“Excellent Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2010

Left my toiletry bag at the hotel. I called the front desk. They returned all my items within one week. Best customer service staff ever! Thank you to the Lost and Found Dept staff and to the the maid(s) who found it--may God bless you!

We stayed at this property both in July and August of 2010. We have traveled quite a bit over the years and are used to good, not fancy, places within the Best Western chain. This property was recommended to us by the company I was consulting with. Since they were picking up the tab, I reserved a basic room since we were arriving late and leaving early. My wife was traveling with me. As I usually do, I asked if an upgrade was available. It was and up we went to our room. We were met on the 5th floor by the same attentive front desk clerk who apologetically advised that there was a problem with the room, but that they had moved us on the same floor. The room they moved us to was incredible!! No extra charge for a corner suite!?!
Then the dinner at the in house restaurant. As I told my wife, if we could have this good a food everytime we ate out, we would do so a lot more. Delicious! And the setting, out on the deck looking out at the Columbia Gorge, is hard to duplicate. Service at both dinner and breakfast was superb.
I would recommend this property to anyone. Great place!

This was a delightful find - located right near the Hood River Bridge, north of I-84, it was very convenient to get to (despite road construction). The hotel has an outstanding view of the Columbia River and the Hood River Bridge, with a nice set of walking trails one can enjoy for a stroll. Rooms were much more comfortable than the BW we stayed at the night before - more space, very comfortable bed, extra pillows. High-speed internet was actually high-speed, and wireless, too.

The room included a small discount on dinner (half-off a second meal) and free breakfast. Since we were pretty tired from a day of outdoor adventure, we opted to eat at the hotel restaurant. Very glad we did, as the food was excellent with both meals. While the service was helpful and polite, it was also very slow. Breakfast was more leisurely than we'd hoped, but again, the food was outstanding.

In summary: I'd love to stay here again.

We were bowled over by the two bedroom, two bathroom riverside suite we stayed in at this hotel -- really beautifully decorated in a sleek, modern style. We wanted to move in! The suite had a spacious balcony with a stunning view of the Columbia River. We couldn't have asked for a nicer or more conveniently located place to stay while we were exploring the Columbia Gorge, visiting Mt. Hood, and going white water rafting on the White Salmon River (with Zollers Adventures). Our only caveat was that, while the servers in the hotel restaurant were very nice, the food always seemed to take a long time coming out even though the restaurant was never really that crowded. We ended up going into the town of Hood River to eat dinner a few times at some lovely restaurants there.

We stayed one week with our 2 kids in a 2 queen beds with river view suite and we enjoyed the stay. Room was spacious with a nice river view, beds were very comfortable, breakfast was pretty good and price was really a good fit.

Room large, with patio facing riverfront made for very relaxing lovely stay. We had dinner in the restaurant with our choices well prepared & served. At breakfast, not all was quite so well. Our server served the same meal for both of us even though we ordered something different. Don't recall her name, but she seemed indifferent...guess you an't have everything....

We were able to get the room we wanted on short notice, without any reservations. Our room overlooked the Columbia River, and we spent each night on the deck watching the sunset over dozens of windsurfers. A great way to end a day of summer vacation.

We originally planned to stay only two nights but we found so much to do in the Hood River area that we added a third night...and then a fourth night. The hotel was very accommodating and gave us everything we needed to support our vacation, including "local insights" on things to do and see.

Riverside Grill was also a pleasant surprise. Great tasting, lots of variety, plenty of fresh local fruits available. A cut above the typical "hotel restaurant" in my experience.
