“Beautiful, quaint, and oh so close”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Villa Columbia is a wonderful B&B. The owner's are wonderful people from the old country (which I believe was Yugoslavia) and the wife, Boba, does all the cooking which is true european delicatessen. The house is a 1911 craftsman style home that has been fully restored. Beautiful old wood, crown molding, and tight grained wood floors are found throughout. The view of the Columbia River is gorgeous during breakfast while sitting in the dining room. All rooms come with their own private bath that are quite nice and spacious for B&B's from this era. The least expensive room, The Hood River, is the only one that has a patio from the room. It does share with the common patio but is a nice feature if you like sitting outside sipping wine at night or reading the paper with morning coffee during the day.

The hotel is located about 4 blocks from downtown Hood River. Two blocks away from a couple of the best restaurants, Brian's Pour House and 3 Rivers Grille. It's so nice to be able to park and just walk to shops, restaurants, bars, and yes, wine tasting rooms. If you have an opportunity to stay at Villa Columbia, Boba will make you feel right at home without being overbearing. Wonderful place, wonderful stay, we'll be back!

Room Tip: They're all good. Most rooms are on the second floor which has better views, but the Hood River...

Villa Columbia is the best B&B in Oregon! I have been too many hotels, B&B's and resorts in Oregon, Washington and California. Boba and her husband have created a peaceful and luxurious place that guests can call a home away from home. My boyfriend and I came to stay for a weekend in the Columbia Suite, the room with a view of the Columbia River. The Jacuzzi tub was large compared to the other jacuzzi tubs we have been in, the sheets were silky smooth, the down comforter was perfect! The room also has a heating and air conditioning option, but the windows were easy to open making a nice breeze. A nice bottle of local wine and a basket of cheese, crackers and chocolates welcomed us to the room, we also recieved a tour of the beautiful home and offers of homemade sweets and cold beverages in the fridge! Boba made us all an unforgettable breakfast, not your usual eggs, waffles and cold cereal but a twice baked croissant cassarole with a pear and cranberry compote which was incredible, we could smell her making it the previous night! Villa Columbia is within walking distance to all the great little coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, and wineries. You don't really need your car all weekend! Perfect area, perfect room, perfect everything! We plan on coming back as soon as we can! Boba and her husband made our anniversary weekend special in every way, so thank you!

Room Tip: The Columbia Suite has the best view of the Columbia River!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the villa columbia this past weekend! We were welcomed with a yummy bottle of local wine, cheese, and dried fruit in our room.
We stayed in the hood river room the first night (which is downstairs). The room was beautiful. The second night we stayed in the columbia room (which is upstairs). It was also a beautiful room, with a better view.
The house has a big common area with a fireplace and a huge bookshelf filled with books as well as tons of games for you to play. There are several mini fridges in the common areas that are filled will bottle waters and assortments of sodas that are free of charge for you to have.
The breakfast was amazing! We told them that we do not eat pork and they accommodated us fabulously by making us chicken sausages! The couple who runs this B&B are so sweet. We enjoyed every bit of our stay and would recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

This place is run by two friendly people Boba and VJ who have tried to create a little European ambience into their very comfortable house. Good views of the Columbia River from the breakfast room, excellent wifi and quite substantial two course breakfast with good juices and decent coffee. Pod machine coffee of high quality was always available, as were nice cookies, water and sodas. An easy five minute walk down the street to restaurants and the heart of the city. A couple of good brew pubs also close by. Boba and VJ were always ready to talk about their city and district and offered good advice on where to eat and what to see. Good off-street parking on site. Hard to find fault with this establishment.

Room Tip: Two rooms are downstairs four are upstairs. Some are bigger than others. We had no choice as we go...

My wife and I stayed here for one night last July and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the front room that had wonderful cross ventilation. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was large and well appointed.

Boba was a very gracious host and breakfast was delicious.

We would stay here again.

Superb in every respect...even the snow was made to order on Christmas Day. The food, ambiance, and hosts are fantastic. Boba and VJ made us feel like family. We will definitely head back when the snow falls or may even check in again on our way to The Palouse for football. I find that taking Washington Highway 14 is much more scenic than the Oregon side.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Columbia River Room which gave us a fine view of the bridge and river. I am a railr...

We stayed at the Villa Columbia last weekend for two nights and after our stay could not avoid giving credit where credit is due. We paid 250 for two nights and considering what that includes it was a good deal, even for poor college students like ourselves. The owners of the house were very hospitable and respectable and made sure our stay was as good as possible. The meals each morning were delicious and paired well with fresh brewed coffee and local juices. The rooms had everything we were interested in, a sizable Jacuzzi tub, plenty of towels, robes. In addition the room had a fireplace which made our stay very comfortable. There were complimentary sodas available also as well as wine glasses , books, and board games at our disposal. The staff was very knowledgeable of the surrounding hood river area and had plenty of suggestions and brochures to ensure our day was well spent. We would recommend this b&b to anyone looking to stay in the hood river area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Columbia room and it had a nice view of the river from both the room and the bathro...
