“amazing experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

From the outset it feels like you're driving up to someone's abandoned backyard. you keep driving then see the horses behind the run-down shed. if you're looking for luxurious amenities and pampering, then you're in the wrong place (and wrong part of the state). but if you're looking for a good time, Margo will exceed your expectations!

Margo will pair you up with horses suitable to your ability and fit you with the right boots.
We asked for the wine tasting ride and got more than we asked for. this is truly a family run operation which means they are flexible and down to earth. grab lunch on the way? no problem. visit another winery? no problem. take photos, change routes, go faster/slower... you get the idea. everything is possible and Margo will make sure you get the most out of your trip. just tell her what you're looking for and they will make your day!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time with Margo and her horses. They are fun, mannered, responsive and safe. The scenery is awesome. Highly recommended and can't wait to return!

“A Winter Wonderland Horse Ride”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

What a fantastic experience to go riding with Margo! She is full of energy and excitement and had so many wonderful stories to share with us, but more importantly she new the area well and took us up to a beautiful summit that overlooked Mt. Hood. The views were spectacular and the horses were very sweet and well-behaved. Because of the snowfall and ice, we got a custom tour that took us off the beaten path through a magical winter wonderland. And Margo was even kind enough to let me borrow a pair of chaps so I could stay warm and ride in style! A must do if you visit Mt. Hood.

“The Best Horse Riding experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

My wife and I often choose to hire an outfit to go horseback riding when we go on vacation. It's a great way to see the area and we both enjoy horses. We usually don't expect anything more than a mellow walk to some location and a halfway decent horse who just stays the path. Margo, who runs Double Mountain Ranch ensures that your experience is so much more!

Her horses are very well cared for and well trained. She is not afraid to let you get the horse to canter, trot, or gallop. She paid attention to her customers and made sure we didn't do anthing we were comfortable with but she was otherwise open to whatever we wanted to do.

We went in November and we went with two other people. It was a small group. We went through a Pear orchard after the trees were picked but there were still lots on the tree's. We were allowed to try so many different flavors of pears. They were also fun to pick from the horses. Then we went down to Hood River and got the horses feet wet. She said if the river was lower we would have crossed and made a loop. Then coming up from the river we did an incredible gallop up the hill (if we chose to) and I never had so much fun on a horse.

By all means Margo knows how to show her customers a good time. If you go to Hood River make sure you look her up.

“1st Horseback ride for my daughter....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

My daughter and I had a date day together. This day included shopping, lunch, and completing the day with a horseback ride in the gorgeous Hood River at Double Mountain Ranch. Couldn't have finished the day any better. Not only was the ride wonderful, peaceful, beautiful, it was my daughter's first time on a horse by herself. Margo Goodman made this trip and time special. She has a gift of hospitality, kindness, radiant light, and of course a equipped instructor on a horse. She makes you feel right at home and part of her ranch. She loves what she does and it shows in her rides and listening to each customer's needs. I would recommend this experience for anyone!! Thank you Margo for what you do and how you make people feel after coming to your ranch. We will be back....
