Rain and clouds prevented us from enjoying the outdoors at Mt. Hood, or from viewing the mountain itself, but our overnight stay in Timberline Lodge was worth the trek up the mountain, as well as the price of a room, on our way from Hood River to Bend. The lodge's history, architecture, artifacts and ambiance are a treasure, made all the more awesome when explained during an inspired guided tour by a volunteer ranger like Dr. Jerry Prescott. Dinner and breakfast in the Cascade Room were also excellent.
