“Our stay at Mt. Scott Manor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

My wife and I had a very enjoyable 3-night stay at this bed and breakfast earlier this month. Clean and quiet with a very helpful staff. We stayed in the large suite and were extremely comfortable. Della will even let you cook your own breakfast if you please. Complimentary wine and snacks also. Would stay there again.

“Room was excellent, food so-so.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed in the master suite for our second anniversary in July 2011. The room is excellent, very comfortable Cal King bed, cozy sitting area, and large bathroom with 6x6 ft walk in shower and two person tub. Della is a very kind and gracious host, but her breakfast style was not my favorite ever. Option of pancakes waffles or french toast with eggs and bacon. Not bad, just not the greatest. Overall, an enjoyable experience. I would go again.

“A welcoming B&B to find relaxation and rest.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Having researched many B&B's for our weekend away, I settled on Mt. Scott Manor due to positive reviews of the breakfast, comfort, owner's etc. Needless to say, we were not disappointed in any way. Upon our telephone booking, Della was very polite and welcoming; asking if we would like a chilled bottle of champagne or a bottle of wine in our room to greet us.

Our original time schedule changed slightly and upon calling Della, we were graciously accommodated. We found Mt. Scott Manor easily and Della greeted us with a welcoming smile and provided a tour of the B&B. We were invited to help ourselves to the always open wet bar, kitchen goodies (Della made banana bread, fresh bread and pineapple upside-down cake) and coffee, anytime day or night.

We stayed in the Master Suite which was huge - over 1000 sq.ft. The first comforting feeling of the Suite was the cleanliness. The suite was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet.

Della asked if breakfast at 9am was okay (Della was willing to accommodate an earlier or later schedule if we preferred), to which we agreed and the next morning we filled ourselves on yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, the best pancakes we have ever had, coffee, orange juice, tea and conversation with other guests and with Della. It was an absolute delight.

Over the weekend we made ourselves at home at Mt. Scott Manor and became close to Della and Virgil (and Vincent and Jeff) and felt part of their family. We were welcomed unconditionally and for that we are very grateful.

This B&B is very welcoming and unpretentious. Having the comfort of making tea in the kitchen any time we wanted or taking a share of the snacks was more than we could have hoped for. We really felt at home and never once felt awkward or uncomfortable. I highly recommend Mt. Scott Manor. We will be booking the Master Suite again soon for another weekend of restoration.

Room Tip: The Master Suite is over 1000 sq.ft!

“Mt Hood Rising”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

This is the first place I've stayed that I'm truly sorry to leave. Della Duggin and Vergil are the perfect hostess and host. It started when Virgil picked us up at the Amtak Station and gave us a tour while driving us to his home. They live downstairs, so they don't just drop in to see how it is going. The rooms are huge. We stayed in the Eagle which faces Mt Hood which we saw three out of the four days there.
Breakfast is the best and you have a choice! Better than continental.
You can get coffee, juice, cook whatever in the chefs kitchen, which is bigger than my living room.
Della is great with directions and recommendations, but you have to ask. There are some superb restaurants nearby as well as shopping centers. One has Message Envy which is relaxing.
Great reception on wifi, tv, with lots of channels,NY Times. Wild deer, racoons, ducks etc. in the yard.
I heard an eagle, but didn't see it.
You get wine on arrival. Our room had a jacuzzi.
There are cats occasionally in the house, but Della tries to keep them away from guest. they come if you call sometimes.
This is by far the best B&B we've stayed in and we have traveled extensively.

Room Tip: Eagle is south east side early sun, the main room runs east to west. The other two face north

“Loved it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2011

We just got back from Portland yesterday and I knew i had to write this review!

Mt Scott Manor is absolutely gorgeous. I've stayed at quite a few B&B's but this has been the best so far. Della added personal touches like a chocolate cake and a bottle of wine. The cake was awesome!! She gave us a free upgrade as there was no one else staying there. The breakfast was wonderful and included fruit, waffles, eggs, bacon and homemade bread. We were free to help ourselves to a whole variety of snacks anytime of the day. The place is really clean and the beds so comfortable that I wanted to steal it!

The house is located on 15 acres of undeveloped land which is beautiful. We saw deer and ducks. The fact that it is located a bit away from the main town just made it even better for us. We would definitely stay here again!
