We were looking for a more quiet place to stay at the end of our trip. We wanted to have good rest, and access to the more scenic areas east of Portland. This Hampton was perfect for us, and the staff there are some of the best hotel staff we experienced on our 4 week trip. They were personable, helpful, always asking if we had any needs, and just fun to talk to. The manager offered everyone special snacks in the evening, and it was just like a surprise to find out what we might enjoy that day. For example, my wife casually mentioned that she would like to find a vegetarian restaurant for dinner that evening. The lady at the desk did not know of any, but later when we were leaving, she had printed out a list of possible restaurants that we might try. We looked over the list, checked on TripAdvisor for a good one (The Farm), and then she printed out detailed directions on how to get there. I travel a lot and no one at a Hampton has done that before for me. And our room was really nice and quiet. We asked for a room away from the road, and our room looked out over a large multi-acre garden on the back of the hotel. Talk about quiet, it was wonderful. We would wake up in the morning, enjoy seeing what the urban farmer was picking that day, and it made our day. We still talk about that.
Ask for an upper room on the backside overlooking the garden.
