“Not really in Grants Pass...Really in city of Rogue River!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

Hotwire.com rated this a 3 star hotel; however, it did not even have an elevator. We did enjoy our stay with friendly staff, clean/spacious room, and average hot breakfast. However, we were visiting family in Grants Pass, so the trip back and forth was not very convenient. (Check your map for distance.)

This is the first disappointment we have had on our American trip.the website did not explain exactly just how far the hotel is from grants pass, and by the time we got to the hotel we did not feel like driving back in traffic to town, so disappointed we missed it. There is nothing to do in rogue even though it is very pretty.we ended up getting cheese and biscuits for dinner from the market. The rooms are average but clean and our sink plug did not work. Noise from shower next door was so loud we could not hear tv and we could hear all their conversation until 4am. Disposable cups are also used in rooms. Included breakfast was good and staff in restaurant very helpful.

I didn't ask at the desk but from the dates of reviews on Tripadvisor, this looks like a new addition to the hotel selections in southern Oregon. Accordingly, it was in tip-top shape. Very quiet and away from the freeway. Easy access.

Moreover, the staff were very accommodating. We had heavy luggage and multiple items to take into the room. They had a bell hop who was available to carry them up to the 2nd floor (no elevator) but that turned out to be unnecessary when were given a 1st floor room when we asked for one.

For a walk-out price of $96, you won't find better. And away from the noise of Grants Pass.

Room Tip: Call ahead to get a 1st floor room.

Grants Pass hotels were full, so we opted for Rogue River that is about ten miles away. At first, we were a little worried and wondered about the good ratings the Best Western received from TripAdvisor reviewers. After checking in any concerns we might have had were allayed. The hotel is pretty basic highway fare, but it was clean, the rooms were small but accommodated us quite well. The staff was very friendly and was honest enough to admit that places to eat in Rogue River were few. We were pretty tired and didn't want to drive to Grants Pass to eat so we ate at a little diner in Rogue River that was okay but nothing special.

Stayed at the hotel on our way home from visiting the California Coast. Hotel has a nice, old-world feel to it. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nicely appointed and, even though we could only get a queen bed, the bed was very comfortable. I had asked for and received a high floor and an extra pillow. There were plenty of choices for breakfast and the dining room and food was very pleasantly arranged. Wish Grants Pass was closer, we would definitely return for another visit.

This was my second stay at this motel. It's located next to the Rogue River right off I 5 a few miles South of Grants Pass Oregon. Another time I stayed in October and was rewarded with excellent views of fall foliage around the hotel and in the general area.

Likes: clean room, comfortable mattress with pillow top. Very friendly staff all across the board. Breakfast bar has a variety of items incl. waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, biscuits, gravy, apples, oranges, juice, coffee, etc.

Dislikes: refrigerator in room had a few really noisy phases, (sounded broken) since we were not using it I just unplugged it. Toilet tank was drip- dripping quite loudly, I even heard it somewhat after keeping the bathroom door closed. I reported these issues to the front desk in the morning, they apologized and were going to fix things.

I realize this is not the hotel's fault, but there were some very noisy kids running along the corridor at 10 pm. I think I met these incredibly poorly behaved kids again at the breakfast bar. Parents, if your kids step on my toes and cut in line in front of me you have lost control over them and it's time to have a little talk and follow- up action.

Convenient: after a long day's drive I usually like to take a walk. There is a paved walking/biking path along the Rogue River, which can easily be accessed after crossing the Rogue River bridge. A cool breeze was blowing, so the walk was very delightful. The locals we met were outgoing and friendly. Grants Pass is my favorite town to bed down for the night on my way from California to Seattle.

Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Room Tip: This was not a problem for us, but there is no elevator. If you have trouble walking stairs ask for...

Enjoyed our stay in a spacious room with refrigerator and microwave in this place just across the road from the Rogue River in the City of Rogue River. The Inn included a small exercise room and lap pool and provided breakfast. Since the location is about 10 miles south of Grants Pass traffic is fairly light along the Rogue River Highway making for a less hectic stay. There are none of the usual fast food stops, but nearby are a few restaurants of which we picked Baci's - an excellent choice for pizza.
