“Great place, great view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

I have stayed at the Lodge at Riverside twice now. I travel weekly for my job and I usually stay at Marriotts but this place was so great the first time I had to come back. The first time I checked in I had been driving for about 4 hours. They have a wine social in the evenings but I had missed it. The gal checking me in offered me a glass of wine anyway. I thought this was sweet because I would have never known since the wine was put away and I was the only person in the lobby! I love people that go above and beyond. I didn't accept it but just the thought impressed me! I'm sorry I can't remember her name. She was a young, cute brunette.

The second time did not disappoint either. Jesse helped me with check out and he was delightful. Very friendly and inquired about my day and my stay. Very professional and kind. He's the kind of guy that makes you want to come back!

The rooms are clean and nice. I will stay here the next time I am in Grants Pass.

Great little hotel with a nice breakfast included. Big clean rooms right on a nice river with a pool.

The location is great and we were able to walk through town from the hotel.

Grants Pass was a great stopover on a Road Trip from San Francisco to Portland. The town has plenty of restaurants.

Thanks to Aaron for his advice on what to do around town.

Lovely people! A little close to the highway, but traffic noise wasn't bad. Aveda products. Beds were pretty soft and bouncy for us, but some might like them. Lovely down comforters. Sue and Pam were delightful hostesses for the continental breakfast, Crystal at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Overall highly recommended.

Tucked away nicely with a cozy entrance The Lodge at Riverside Grants Pass is magic. Large rooms, big soft beds and a relaxed decor greets your senses. You melt into sleep and awaken refreshed. Bliss.

Room Tip: Go later for the milk and cookies. Fabulous.

This was one of the best places we have ever experienced or stayed! The customer service was exceptional. We were able to check in early when we arrived. The rooms are very large and they all have a view of the river with a great balcony. There is a wine reception every night along with milk and cookies a little later. The staff at the hotel was so helpful in looking up any information that we needed as well as suggesting restaurants and answering any questions we had. The breakfast had a great selection of food and the attendant, Pam, was over the top in her service and conversation. When she found out we were gluten and dairy free she went out and got muffins for us to have the next morning that we could eat. It was a wonderful experience! Great place to stay when going down to experience the wonderful wineries/wines of the Applegate Valley.

Room Tip: Stay on the second floor for a great view!

this is probably as good as it gets. a fireplace, very convenient location, beautiful scenery, a staff that is as helpful as you will ever find, and very comfortable beautiful rooms!

the free breakfast could use a little help, but there are so many good places in walking distance that you might not want to waste time with the free one.

we spent five nights here and loved every minute of it.

The Lodge has an interesting lobby with a great fireplace. The Taprock NW Grill is just across the street and you can get there by walking on the underpass. Very convenient. Interesting fireplace there, looked like a tree growing on the fireplace. They offer corporate rate so ask about it.
I had the room facing the parking side, not the river side. It's a large room with a oversized arm chair, TV, fridge under the TV, King bed, and the usual sink, shower over tub and they provide bath robes. Their shampoo, conditioners, and soap are Aveda. Nice touch. One bath robe needed the threads trimmed. It looked like the cat played with it. The room is big so it sort of looks empty. The wireless in the rooms were not too strong. Might need to go to the lobby if you want to use internet.
For breakfast we went down to Ma Mosa at 118 NEW E Street. Yummy food. She makes home made English muffin and her own corned beef. Lots of gluten free choices. Another dinner place is the Roux 26 at 234 SW 5th Street. A bit pricey but it's good. Many types of appetizers: calamari, artichoke hearts, etc. They have good size pizzas, pastas, fish, steak, wine, beer, etc.
