5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

My husband booked a basic room in Grant's Pass. We were unknowingly upgraded to "the cottage" which was at one time the bridal retirement suite for weddings. Private room with a private fenced yard and a gate. Quiet, lots of privacy, A definite Gem!

We are so glad that you enjoyed our “cottage” room. It is a great little private place and we are happy that it was more that you expected. Please remember us next time you are in Grants Pass, we can’t wait to see you again. The staff at The Lodge at Riverside

The Lodge at Grants Pass was wonderful! It was are first time staying there and I cant wait to go back. The staff was great! The rooms were large and very clean. The location is very handy because we like to go on the jet boats. We loved the warm cookies at night.

The Lodge at Grants Pass is always our first stop on the way to California. Great staff...........thank you Aaron!.....Check in was effortless for us and we had a lovely king room overlooking the river and the park. Such a great location and a pleasant spot. we like the easy under the street access to the restaurant on the river. We couldn't believe the sister hotel (the Riverside Inn) is part of the same organization....it is badly in need of renovation!. We've been visiting for 3years now. Looking forward to our next visit when we come back through Grants Pass in July.

We appreciate that you took the time to post a review. Aaron is one of our newest staff members to Country House Inns and we are pleased that he took good care of you. You are correct, the Riverside Inn is one of our sister properties. I am happy to say that every guestroom at the Riverside Inn underwent a major updating this past spring. All rooms were painted, new vinyl and carpeting were installed. As well each room was upgraded with granite counters in the bathroom, refrigerators and a new bedding package. We agree it was due time and we are getting great reviews from guests that have stayed at The Riverside Inn since the remodel. I know that you would be happy too. You should check them out again next time you are in town. The staff at The Lodge at Riverside

I would recommend upstairs room so you can see the river. Rooms were clean but could have used a good deeper scrub eg. Sticky stains on carpet. Staff were very nice and helpful. Long continental breakfast hours and noon check-out provided a leisurely start to the day.

That is all I have to say. Jake at the front desk is just wonderful! The entire staff has always been nice, actually. My in-laws stay here about 7 or 8 times a year and out of all the hotels in GO, they always choose to stay here because of the friendly service and clean rooms with the wonderful fluffy beds!

Room Tip: Bring water wings for the pool!!

The good: allowed early check in, put us in a room away from the river (hence no river traffic noises and no munchkins screaming in the pool outside our door; comfy bed, and large room. The bad: fridg in room didn't work and no "night light" near bathroom...ran into a door trying to find the toilet at night, for example. The ugly: we were on the first floor and the "floor" above us creaked every time those guests took a step or rolled over in bed, and no one at the front desk after 7pm or before 7am, and no breakfast...not even early bird coffee, for those of us who had to get up and be on our way before 7:30am.

Room Tip: As much as you might want to pay premium for a river view, don't bother.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of your stay. We are glad that we were able to accommodate your early arrival and get you into a room that fit your needs and thank you for letting us know that the fridge in the room was not working, we were able to get maintenance right on that and get it fixed. We do apologize if you found our lobby unattended. Our front desk is open from 7am to 11pm and this might have been a time when staff stepped out for a moment to assist a guest, we regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. Although our breakfast room does not open until 7:30am, we do have coffee available in the lobby starting at 7am each day. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us know what we are doing right and where we can make some changes. Thank you again and we hope to see you next time you are in the Grants Pass area. My mother was visiting town for my son's graduation. I checked out this property and thought is would be a good fit for her. Turns out, this place was much better than my initial impression once I spent some time on the property with her. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Great amenities (Aveda shampoo to start) and wonderful decor. My mother said this was one of the most comfortable beds she has slept in at a hotel.

The location is great and you can walk to downtown from the property. A convenient sidewalk takes you under 7th St. to the Taprock Restaurant, so you can walk to dining without crossing a street. You can also walk to downtown and experience some of the other restaurants (no offense to the Taprock, but I have some other places I prefer within walking distance for dinner - but that's another review.)

The little patio area was a relaxing spot to catch up and chat with Mom. The little cocktail hour outside the lobby was such a nice touch. The staff was very friendly, attentive and they went out of their way to make my Mom's stay very pleasurable. As a bonus, our children got to swim in the pool while visiting with their grandmother. I stayed at a few other properties while relocating to this area and there are some nice places in town, but The Lodge at Riverside is definitely the gem on the Rogue River in Grants Pass. You'll love this property.
