“Thanks, again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

I think it was the geese I saw flying south last night that reminded me to write my review! That's one of my favorite things in the mornings at the Lodge at Riverside: when the geese land out on the Rogue in the early morning. Of course we love the cookies at night, and the beds are by far my favorites of any hotel beds ever! I had my annual chat with Pam who runs the Breakfast room and in the evenings was always greeted with a big smile from Chrystal. Thanks again to all of the staff who make our annual trip to Grant's Pass so awesome!

I've stayed here twice. The comfortable rooms are spa-like at very reasonable prices. Great bed, charming balcony, fabulous shower pressure and amenities. Still, the thing that makes The Lodge worth a stop, is the staff. They are sincerely friendly and helpful as they attend to the little details that make a guest feel welcomed. Jade makes a great evening hostess, Sam keeps the breakfast service stocked no matter how many people are grabbing the cinnamon rolls. I was even impressed with how Colin watered the potted plants. He was so careful the hose wouldn't inconvenience a guest. This is a delightful respite for any journey.

My wife and I stopped here for a quick 1 night stay on our way to Sonoma CA. The "lodge" style lobby was great! It was cold when we arrived, so the fire was great to relax by for a few. The Rogue river is right behind the hotel which is very nice! Our view was great overlooking the river with fall foliage. Across the street is a very nice restaurant with affordable choices. (TapRock) I recommend this for a quick stay or week long vacation! Prices affordable and very friendly service! Thanks Nicole! A nice selection of wines as well! We enjoyed a local wine which was delivered to our room just after arriving!

Room Tip: room on the river side is great! Private balconies.

We recently spent a night at The Lodge at Riverside and were welcomed by the most friendly and caring staff we had yet experienced during our trip to the Northwest! Crystal and Michele went out of their way to assist us after a long journey from northern California that had included a flat tire to our rental car after driving through a rock slide while coming through the mountainous pass on Rte. 199 and arriving at the Lodge just in time to witness a police chase through the parking lot after a robbery at a nearby restaurant. Needless to say, we were stressed. They not only offered us cheese and crackers, fruit and wine, but found a local tire and repair shop that was open on Sundays and helped arrange a time for us purchase a new tire and have it mounted so that we could continue our journey on schedule. They even advised us on the "must see" stops on our route to Crater Lake. We would highly recommend a stay at The Lodge at Riverside. The rooms were as welcoming as the staff! Thank you! Keep up the great work you do, it really makes a difference

We just stayed at the Lodge for 3 nights and had a great time. The staff is very friendly. Thanks to Crystal we found lots of beautiful roads and areas to explore. The room was clean and comfortable and the beds are perfect. Shower pressure was incredible. Breakfast, wine and cheese, cookies at night, need I say more? My only regret is that we could'nt stay longer. We have been there before and will be back again.

hot tub closes at 10pm...why adults need a curfew is beyond me.
If you like to watch tv at night - you are on your own - no tv channel guide so you will be surfing a lot to find favorite programs. No premium or pay per view channels and tv's are small

Positive note: Staff was friendly. Rooms are huge - lots of room water pressure is great. Internet access is easy and fast.

I might give them a try again in the future.

Room Tip: if you don't need a view of the creek, the parking lot rooms are just fine.and you save $50

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent stay with us. I am glad that you found our staff friendly and that you enjoyed your room and the Wifi. I am disappointed that you did not find our channel guide helpful. I noticed that you checked out this morning and was concerned that housekeeping had missed it when servicing the room prior to your stay, but it was there when they cleaned the room. We have a channel guide in all guestrooms which lists all free channels that are received at the property including HBO. In fact, the remote sits on top of the channel guide right next to the TV. We close the hot tub at 10pm as a courtesy to other guests who are trying to sleep. We do hope you will give us another try and if there is anything that we can do to help make your stay more comfortable, please just ask, we are happy to make you happy.

We need to be in Grants Pass several times a year on family business. We always stay at the Lodge in the Accessible room. Although it does not have a river view, it is a large, attractively furnished, very clean room. Unfortunately for many handicapped travelers who need a roll-in shower, it would not be appropriate. It does have good grab bars and wide doors and the bath is quite large. Above all it is a very quiet room and would only be improved by a connecting door to the adjacent room--which also has grab bars, because we often have another family member traveling with us.

The breakfast is great and is best in the winter when it is served in the Main Lodge by the fireplace. For returning guests the 25% off deal for the next visit is a real deal. Thank yo to Tamara and the staff for making our stay so pleasant--they even gave us the 25% off on both rooms, for all three nights of our stay! That is the way to treat returning guests! See you again soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the street (7th Street)
