Listen, the fella who ownes this place is real nice so I feel a little bad giving it a bad review - but it could really use some work. I was born in the Ozark Mtns, so I get rustic, but this place just needs to get picked up. There are old panes of glass and piles of unused building supplies, appliances and discarded furniture right next to the room doors, a pile of broken concrete next to the hammock in the yard, cat feces, etc. The interior of the rooms is very dated and in need of a renovation. I could have put up with all this if they hadn't charged us $95 a night.

To be fair though, it was great to have a room right ON the river, with it's own deck and the owner did upgrade us without being asked. He's gonna be really mad if he reads this, but dude, come on, get that place together. It has wonderful potential.

We stopped in for 1 night and ended up staying for 3, then had to return to work unfortunately. The owners are very easygoing, down to earth people - easily the nicest and friendliest hotel hosts I have ever encountered. They knew the names of every guest and were always ultra helpful. The lodging offers a small comfortable place to escape to, not a cookie cutter chain, or an overpriced upscale resort where you get lost in the crowd of hundreds of other guests. A very peaceful and relaxing setting with an incredible and serene view right ON the Rogue River. Be careful, many hotels are on the other side of the road - which is not riverfront. Our room was larger than most apartments in SF or NYC, with 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. It was crisp and clean and we only paid $115 per night in High Season. Each of our bedrooms had a slider to the 25+ foot deck that overlooked the river. Morning coffee and Evening wine on the deck (and many hours in between) each day resulted in the least hectic and most relaxing getaway our family has ever taken. But if you want excitement, no problem, as you are just 5 min from Downtown Grants Pass and close to all the adventurous activities available in the region.

We just spent 3 nights at the Motel del Rogue and loved it. It is a charming little place along the Rogue River. It is very comfortable and clean. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone going to the area for a long or short stay.

What a nice surprise to find that this type of lodging & this kind of Innkeeper still exists in 2007.

My experience started with the first phone conversation I had with Kevin and continued through check out. What a delightful experience. Kevin is a modern day Basil Fawlty without the crazyness. He is a true delight to deal with. We were visiting the area with my husbands step-mother and his Uncle & Aunt. Kevin was so accomodating giving us two units upstairs and one down. One Unit had two rooms, one with a full kitchen. This was particularly handy as thats where we tended to gather in the morning for breakfast and hours of catching up. From our bed we could see the river and hear the geese each morning. It was truly wonderful.

One caveat, if you are looking for a hotel with all the modern amenities, internet access, room service, big bathrooms, etc this may not be for you. BUT if you want a very clean, comfortable room with all the touches of home and a marvelous view in a relaxing family & pet friendly environ this is the place. We will most definately be back.

Thanks Kevin for a wonderful experience.
