“It's like being at Grandma's!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Thank you once again for a great stay!

If you are looking for the Hilton, this is not it. But if you prefer to stay at a place where you are welcomed like family, treated like a guest, and support a local small business, then this is it!

It's not perfect, but that's what makes it great! Super homey, old-style decor, with all you could need for a relaxing stay on the river. Great location, close to town, quiet, and you fall asleep and wake to the gentle sound of the Rogue River.

Thank you Kevin, loved our morning chats! And much love to you, Constance, and Silvia. Looking forward to coming up again soon!

My four-year-old son and I were traveling alone and stumbled upon the Motel Del Rogue. This place is the definition of charming! The owners are very friendly and helpful and were very sweet to my son. The place felt very safe and a real home away from home. The vintage funiture and bric-a-brac around the property are a delight and the deck and view were wonderful. The room had everything we needed (the soap is great) and the housekeeping was the cleanliest (and friendliest) I have ever known. I can't say enough postive things about this place and I am a clean-freak who is difficult to please.

This motel is cute and clean. The owner Kevin is very nice and knowledgable of the surrounding areas. The motel is decorated in vintage furniture and very comfortable, The room we stayed in is very quiet, They come with fully equipped kitchens. The back balcony overlooks Rogue River and you can hear the river rushing by. I highly recommend this motel.. Thanks Kevin for such a wonderful stay.

We spent two nights, coming and going, on our Thanksgiving trip from Oakland to Tacoma. Grants Pass is roughly half way between the SF Bay area and the Seattle area.

Room #9 is reminiscent of the '50s without being cute or insistent about it. I remember the color of the tile in the bathroom from the house I grew up in, but it's either new, or remarkably preserved and clean.

Two televisions, one DVD player.

Simple but useable kitchen area and table in the front room (with one of the beds). Nothing fancy, but everything you need (including full apartment-size stove and refrigerator) if you don't want to go out to eat on a rainy night.

Beautiful view of the Rogue River from the covered (2nd floor) back porch. I want to go back in better weather, and spend more time outdoors.

AT&T cell service is a little iffy (not the inn's fault, of course). Free WiFi.

Friendly, helpful people and cats.

Give it a try!

We stayed one night in the spa tub room, which had a king bed and a generously sized corner spa tub in the bathroom, complete with a candelabra to up the romance factor. The decor was adorable, with a handmade quilt on the bed. The kitchen was small but it had everything we needed. We definitely enjoyed our evening!

We read reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor and decided to give it a go. Constance took our reservation and we decided to stay in room 11. Kevin was who we saw the entire time of our stay and he could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The room had just been redone and it was very clean. Loved the tile work in the shower. Kevin suggested Thai Barbecue in town for dinner and it was delicious. The service there was excellent and their coconut soup was exceptional. We stayed at the Motel Del Rouge for one night and we would definitely return.

I contacted the Motel Del Rogue via email on January 31, 2012 specifically requesting Room #2 for the night of August 26, 2012, if available. We require a king bed for a good night's sleep, and this is the only room which has a king at the Motel Del Rogue. I received a prompt email response back from "Kevin, Constance and Sylvia" at 11:23 AM Mountain Time stating the room was available for that night and they had reserved it for me.

We arrived about 3PM on August 26 to see someone walking out of Room #2, getting into a car and driving off. When we went to the office to check in, we were informed the guests in that room who were supposed to check out two nights prior had asked to extend, and they were allowed to do so without being moved to another room. The owners/managers either didn't verify existing reservations for that room when allowing the extension, or they made an assumption they could simply move us to a different room -- I'm not sure which. We were offered a queen room as a substitute, but declined it because a queen bed at any price for us won't work because we can't get a restful night's sleep on one. We ended up scrambling to locate another hotel in the area which had king beds in which we could stay for that night.

I'd recommend that if you make a reservation with them, double-check it they day before arriving. All reservations are managed using a paper calendar on a counter in the front office which they apparently do not check closely when maintaining guest reservations.
