Grants Pass is a convenient stopoff for me on travel up and down the west coast -- I know the town fairly well and there are plenty of services available. I generally stay at more upscale hotels in town, but on this trip I just needed a good night's sleep and parking right in front of the room so I could wheel my expensive bicycle inside the room for the night.

As usual, this fit the bill, with no unpleasant surprises. The one downside to my stay was the occupants of the room next to mine were heavy smokers who stood outside my room to smoke and the smell came into my room several times during the night and woke me up. Not the fault of Motel 6, but the thoughtless senior couple occupying the adjacent room.

This is a regular stop on my I-5 route between California and Oregon. Not only are the rooms clean and comfortable albeit, bare bones.-- And additional convenience is the is large selection of restaurants within walking distance -- so you can choose your own breakfast -- at your own price. With Motel 6, I never have to worry about surprise (and some surcharges) if I'm traveling with my large (but well-behaved!) dog.

This particular store even offers non-coffee drinkers a carafe of hot water for tea, chocolate or whatever you've got in your suitcase.



Vive la Motel 6.

Motel 6 are basic motels with all the main essentials you need for an overnight or short stay. They offer basic facilities. My room at the Motel 6 in Grants Pass was clean and comfortable and had more TV channels than many premium hotels I have stayed in.

The receptionist gave a warm smile and appeared to be genuinely welcoming. After a long day on the road it felt like coming home to an old friend. Not being American, the receptionist went that extra mile to ensure we both understood one another. Although I am English, understanding American English and visa versa can sometimes be difficult.

There are a number of eateries close by and a large Safeway supermarket on the way to downtown.

If you're looking for a CLEAN, SAFE, AFFORDABLE place to stay, THIS IS IT!!! The staff is SUPER excellent and when I stayed there it was quiet and relaxing. I was also in the middle of a move, so my car was packed with stuff and neither the permanent residents, or anyone else messed with it. If anything, the people that live in the hotel look out for one another. It's like a nice little community for a night :) Just talk to people, be nice, and they will return the favor. And yes, the internet costs a whole $3, it's also fast, and secure, so to all those people that gave this place a bad review over pompous expectations: stop being such a snob.
