“not for light sleepers...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2008

The bad news is that if you are a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you- I could hear the people walking above me, in the hallway and whoever decided to fill their ice chest with ice, even though the ice machine was wayyyyy down the halway.
The good news is that the rooms were clean, the beds comfy, the extended cont.breakfast was good and the staff at the front desk very nice.
So if you aren't a light sleeper this is a good place for you-if you are then you need to bring along some ear plugs, some fan for white noise, and ask for a room on the top floor!

I agree with most of the other comments regarding staff and amenities, however our initial reaction was the interior looked run down. Servicable but nothing more.

The other complaint was that our room on the 3rd floor smelled of smoke. There was no smoking on the 3rd floor but according to the front desk the smoke smell comes up through the venting systems. It wasn't overpowering - just unpleasant. We left the window open and the fan on which helped some.

We like the location of Grants Pass for an overnight stay on our way back and forth to Phoenix but might change where we stay next time.

It was getting dark and we needed a place to stay, we took a chance on LQI and we were really impressed. I have never stayed at a LQ before and expected the worst. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. The beds, truly one of the best beds I have slept on in a motel room ever. The room was pretty basic. TV had ample channels and there were a number of places to eat nearby. The Denny's was friendly and tasty. If I ever have to make the trip again I would stop at this place without hesitation. Great job!

The biggest room we've seen so far, and the most comfortable bed. A great price, friendly front desk staff, and a great breakfast. I'll definitely look for more La Quintas as we travel! There's a path around back of the hotel where you can walk your dog!

To celebrate my birth mother's 75th birthday, my husband and I, my sister and my nephew stayed for two nights at the La Quinta in Grants Pass. We had been guests there before on a couple of occasions and found the hotel to be very comfortable. This trip surpassed our prior experiences. Our rooms were clean, fresh, and inviting. The staff was very helpful, particularly Cory, who gave us a perfect recommendation for a special prime rib dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated being able to visit in front of the fireplace in the lobby in the evening and then take a swim or jacuzzi before bed. The delicious coffee, cookies, and ample breakfasts were great. The hotel was close to restaurants, shopping, and gas stations. Good location to get on and off the freeway. It could not have been a better location for our family get-together. We are grateful to the staff for making our stay so memorable!

Stayed here one night on a drive from Eureka to Seattle based on reviews I read here. A good basic hotel. Our room was clean and in good condition. The indoor pool is open 24/7, which was a nice and unusual feature. The free continental breakfast was surprisingly well-stocked (even make-your-own waffles).

One word of caution I didn't see in other reviews: This hotel is located right next to the interstate and all of the rooms on the north side of the hotel (including ours) look directly over I-5. The traffic noise was constant and mildly disturbing to sleep for those of us used to a bedroom that doesn't overlook a freeway.

Otherwise it was a good deal for the money and a decent hotel.

We booked two rooms for a family wedding and we had the best hotel experience of any of the wedding guests. My sisters stayed in the Travelodge and had to come to our room to iron their clothes because there weren't irons there, even at the dek! We were travelling with our three sons in their 20's. The hotel is right off exit 58 but a bit far out of town. We had to help with the wedding preparations so my sons were happy to spend time at the hotel which has free wireless. They also walked into town for lunch. There is a fantastic shave ice stand a block away. Also be sure to have the local coffee- Dutch Bros. It is far better than Starbucks
The room was adequate size with two queen comfortable beds. A big plus was the refrigerator and microwave. We bought a gallon of spring water and kept it cold. The climate is so dry you have to drink a lot. The lobby was always stocked with coffee and ice water. The breakfast is much better than continental but not as complete as a Residence Inn. Cereal, boiled eggs, Belgian waffles (tasted acidic like they had vitamin C), sausage gravy and biscuits, fruit.
We didn't have time to test the pool. The houskeeping staff was excellent
