“a nightmare!!!”

Discovery Inn

My wife and I pulled into Discovery Inn at Grants Pass on Sat. of April 16th around 7:30 P.M. The check in woman looked like the cleaning lady to begin with and she struggled with all aspects of checking someone into a room(on my receipt is a terminal I.D. that is L124plt and the Merchant# is 9115855257. After a long time with the credit card payment and other things the person could not find a key to room 117 which she had selected for us,agter 4-5 minutes she found and gave us one key(the office is on one side of the street and room 117 is over on the entrance to the other side of the street which is a long walk plus its raining and that time. Getting unpacked from the car we found the door would not open with that key, finding a cleaning woman I told her my problem and since she could not open the door she went back to the office and brought back another key. Upon opening the door we saw luggage throughout the room, had to walk back in the rain to the office and the woman gave us a key to 118,walking all the way back in the rain we entered 118 to find one single bed and a smoking room which we do not want-walking back to the office in the rain and getting very irriated with this mess the woman gave us a key to 105 which upon reloading are luggage and now unloading by the door in the rain we found that room was not only had luggage in it but also people sitting at the table,we were embarressed and mad at the stupidity that was going on and all the time it was still raining on all are luggage which became fairly wet during these moments.I went back to the office for a 3-4th time and told her to refund my credit card and how could you run such a sloppy motel(by the way a man who came in after me on my 1st time in the office ran thur almost the same problem as my wife and I did and they were in the office demanding thier money back when I went in for my last time.We were there about an hour and finally went up the street to the Budget Inn. Just thought you might be interested in the happenings of this Discovery Inn. Thank you- Terry and Andrea Healey from Bountiful Utah 84010--address and phone is 2099 south 850 east bountiful Utah and phone# is 801-298-8998

“Maid service?”

Discovery Inn

Aug 26, 2004

We stayed two nights. The first morning I went to the pool for a swim while my partner slept in. We had left at 5am the day before and was exhausted. A Woman upstairs came down the walk & yelled AREN'T YOU GUYS UP YET? IS EVERYONE STILL SLEEPING? I thought it was a rude guest in shorts, then later I saw her cleaning the rooms...SHE WAS THE MAID ! Very Rude! Not Professional at all.

“Great, economical place to stay...”

August 16, 2004: We had the opportunity to stay at the Discovery Inn in Grants Pass, OR, for 3 nights last week. The Discovery Inn is an older 2-level motel in downtown Grants Pass located near the large (and much more expensive) motel/convention center on the river. We found the rooms at the Discovery Inn to be neat and clean and the management and staff to be friendly and courteous. There is a great pool on the premises and the Inn is located within walking distance (2 blocks) to the Rogue River and several excellent restaurants. While the Discovery Inn is older, the charge for a room is about 1/3 that of the motel/convention center. We'd recommend the Discovery Inn to anyone visiting Grants Pass who wants to save a few $$ just to rest their weary bones and who doesn't mind staying in an older, but nicely kept facility.

“Very very dirty”

The room was extremely smelly and as we folded down the comforter we could see the cigarette holes and what appeared to be yellow stains everywhere. We folded down the sheets and there were pieces of bugs and dirt everywhere !!! You could pick up the winged bug and see pieces of stingers on the sheets ! along with yellow stains and what appeared to be light grease stains !! It was so disgusting that we had to leave and go to another hotel. The manager was the rudest woman I have EVER incountered at a hotel! She threw the key across the counter and walked off and the sheet across the room in a ball, she was so violent and rude ! It was an unbelievable experience. I would not recommend this hotel for my animals. Not worth it, especially for the management and the uncleanliness. Appalling !
