Avoid at all cost. Room sucks. Smells and looks like Dad. Horrible to 9th power. Rooms dated and dirty. Uncomfortable stay. Need in say more? Do not do Jots. This place is totally horrible. Please post TA!

Thanks to a very helpful lady in reservations, we were able take advantage of the "penthouse". We didn't need all the room but it sure made a hit with my two teenaged grandsons. Basically a whole house above the Resort store, this is an ideal spot for a large family get-2-get her. With 4 bedrooms and at least 3 sleeper sofas, it is easily able to handle a group of at least 10 up to about 16, over sized fully equipped kitchen, large dining area, and Living room with a view. My favorite thing was the full length balcony with a large BBQ at your disposal. Plus you are right over the fish cleaning station so you can get all the hot scoop on where they are biting. We have put out the word to several friends with large families and are even considering our own family reunion next year. oh yeah, we have stayed in and been happy with other rooms at Jot's but this was a real treat, thanks to the staff.

Last time my stay at Jot's was very disappointing. New opinion is much improved. Night stay was $125 a night. Room had new carpet, paint and very updated. What a view. Watched a salmon caught right in front of our room for the balcony. Would now stay there again. If you havent tried Jot's lately, you may want to give it another try...

Room Tip: Take a room on the top floor for a better view of the river.

Motel was adequate for an overnight stay. Nothing special. Arrive late/leave early. Overlooks Rogue River, but very plain with simple accommodations. Breakfast included coffee and a Muffin. Room was very basic, but clean. Would not stay again unless there were no other choices. Staff was helpful. Not a lot of character here except for the river. This was an overnight stop on a trip down the Oregon Coast.

Before coming to Gold Beach I was leaning towards the more costly Tu Tu Tu'n or Ireland's based on other's reviews; however, we arrived in Gold Beach only about a half hour before our check in at Jerry's Jet Boats and Jot's was right across the bridge so we decided to give it a shot. First off, don't be mislead by the name by he word 'resort' simply means a place where people go for recreation or relaxation. It does not mean swim up bars, golf courses and pool side drink delivery, although there are certainly resorts that offer these amenities. Jot's is not that kind if resort. If you require luxury accommodations you should perhaps keep looking. But now on to why Jot's gets my 4 stars. Location: it is right off the highway as you cross the bridge leaving town. If you are here for the Jet Boat rides, they are just on the other side of the river (although you can arrange to be picked up at the Jot's dock. From the second floor, we had an up close and uninstructed view of the river and the Patterson bridge. You can watch the fishing boats and sea lions from the balcony and every room has a large slider and water view. If you are one of said fisherman, Jots has their own large dock, boat ramp and the parking lot is set up for boat trailer parking. The rooms : are good sized and clean with typical motel decor from any of the last several decades. They have a coffee pot, iron, hair dryer, mini fridge and microwave. I once read that Stevie Wonder preferred Holiday Inns because they were so similar he could always find his way around without bumping into furniture. I have no idea if there is any truth to that, but this room was so predictable in terms of furniture and arrangement that it would fit that bill. We opted for two queen beds which were surprisingly comfortable with generous bedding. The other amenities (none of which we actually tried): there is a small outdoor pool as well as an indie pool and spa. There is a restaurant and lounge as well as a small gift shop and tacks and bait shop. You can also arrange guided fishing trips on the Rogue River or deep sea fishing charters. If you are just looking for a clean and comfortable place to sleep while passing through, it would meet that need as well. The Price: The advertised price was, I think $139 a night and as we arrived with no reservation on a Monday they gave it to us for $120. You really can't beat that. If we had been planning to stay several days in Gold Beach we might have opted for something a little more upscale, but for our purposes it was an excellent choice. All of the several staff members we interacted with were extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

This hotel is listed as a "resort"... perhaps in its younger years it WAS, but in 2013, this is merely a motel and one in DIRE need of an update! The room I reserved was a double queen with a "kitchenette" paid $140 a night and was soooo VERY disappointed when we arrived! very, very small room. The kitchenette looked to be from mid 70's and instead of wall paper around the kitchen, they used contact paper! This was a room to sleep 4 and only had one coffee cup, 2 drinking glasses, one spoon, 8 forks and no knives, one salad bowl and 2 plates and The chairs to the dinette, were BOTH broken, absolutely NOTHING holding the cushion up, so when you sit in it, you fall through! The mattresses' on both beds, were old and uncomfortable, the bedspread even has thinning spots in it, that you could literally see through! The carpet was completely stained throughout! The TV was an old 20" tube type tv. They do not offer you a dresser and only 4 clothes hangers. The Oregon coast overages high 60's to mid 70's in the summer and yet their outdoor pool was not heated. I am NOT a happy customer at all. The only PLUS about this motel is the view and the fact that you have easy access to the bay and boat ramp, fishing was great! The staff was friendly, but not very caring of your needs. I asked them for more eating utensils and they gave me plastic ones and said they would bring me more dishes. They never did, even after asking them TWICE! I will NOT recommend this place to you or anyone else. My next visit will be at the Motel 6 across the bridge, it is waaay nicer than this place!

Room Tip: the best tip I can give to you, is to shop around. This place is waaaay over rated and VERY expensiv...
