“Amazing location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012 via mobile

Hotel is a bit older but what a great location! Amazing full view of the ocean from our balcony. Clean, comfy, huge TV with free HBO. Hot tubs over looking the beach. Huge property with gardens to walk though. We will stay here again.

I have stayed here and at Ireland's next door. The ocean view is spectacular. This family owned operation has clean rooms and a friendly staff, responsive to requests. Each February I attend a writers conference in Gold Beach. This inn is close to the where the conference is held. I have walked the grounds and beach a number of times and really appreciate the location. For may money, this is the best place to stay in Golf Beach when you consider what you get for a low price.

Room Tip: We like the top floor rooms at Gold Beach Inn and prefer rooms with an ocean view at Ireland's...

We really like coming to the Oregon Coast and staying at places that are located right on the ocean and this place was great. The management and staff are very friendly and accomadating and the rooms are nice and clean. We chose the top floor and everything could not have been better. There is also a spa that is located at the oceanfront and it was very nice. We also recieved a discount to Spinner's Restaurant which was located within walking distance. Great choice and highly reccomend.

To start off with we had stayed at this motel once before and liked it so we thought we would go back on a return trip. What a mistake. This motel has very serious problems. We arrived in the evening after diner and got checked in and settled in for the night. The first time to use the toliet it wouldn't stop running and started flooding the bath room. I had to turn off the water to the toliet to get it to stop. We soaked up the water with the only few towels that were in the room and tried to call the front desk. But there is no one at the front desk after 9 pm.The toliet became unoperable for the entire night and had to be manually turned on and the flapper inside adjusted to get the toliet to work. How disgusting!!!
The termostat in the room had all the numbers worn off and you coundn't tell were to set the heat. First the room got to hot then to cold, as it was difficult to tell where to set it for a comfortable setting.
The next morning when we used the shower the water would go from cold to scolding hot almost to the point of burning you.
When we went to check out that morning at 7 am there was no one again staffed and the front desk to even notify them of the problems.
As we found out there is a reson why the price was cheap for this room. Lack of working plumbing and heat and no customer service.
We would never stay here again and can't recommend this motel.

Room Tip: Stay at another motel

We find this review suspicious. We have emergency line numbers clearly posted in the room and in our Welcome Book. We have staff that live on property that can help you 24 hours a day. We would have gladly fixed the problem or moved you to another room at anytime in the night. In this time frame, we have had no broken toilets and have no record of your complaint or what room you were in. Our breakfast room is open at 7:00 a.m. and is staffed. There was no complaint made. There was no complaint by phone later. We certainly cannot fix a problem if we never notified. We have great heaters, hot water and water pressure. We believe this review is unfair and if you look at our other reviews it is completely out of context.

We found this hotel while on the PCH. We loved it so much that we are going back this year! We arrived when it was dark and had the best night sleep with the waves crashing all night...Wished we could have stayed longer than 1 night.

We were just passing through but had to stay an extra night! What a view! The people who own this place were the friendliest people we have met in a long time. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect!! We enjoyed it so much, we are planning on spending a month there as soon as possible. Beautiful beaches with pristine landscapes are what you can expect at this place. We stayed at Ireland's Rustic Lodge. We had a wonderful view of the ocean from our room. It had a fireplace, wood walls, spas and was absolutely beautiful! We would recommend this place to anyone interested in a peaceful stay in a very warm atmosphere. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did!!

Our friends return here year after year. With an expansive view over the sand dunes to the ocean (full moon shining on it right now), what is not to like when the cost is under $75? And two recliners inside with chairs and tables on the balcony when it is warm enough.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the ocean
