“Reviews were much better than our room turned out to be.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Disappointed is an understatement. I couldn't stand the smell of our room, which also smelled like the lobby. Think: sour-pungent-something-indescribable. Hair in the fridge and microwave were pretty unappetizing. Our room wasn't ready, although we checked in an hour late. It seemed like we were the only paying guests, and everyone else was a surfer/friend of the innkeeper, which is probably true. Dogs running loose; just a feeling of not knowing what was "really" going on behind the scenes. After a full week in Oregon, and three different hotel/motel rooms, we were excited to see some of the Southern Oregon Coast, but expected a lot more from this place. It felt a little seedy. Knowing in advance that it was a surfer stop-over would have tempered some of my disappointment, I assume.

As per some of the previous reviews it is an older hotel and it showed a little BUT myself and my honey were thrilled with our stay. The staff was awesome and energetic and the view was amazing. We stayed 2 nights, checking in at 1am the first night and they were very accommodating. If we are ever at this end of the coast again this would be my first choice. Oh and they had the most comfortable beds of anywhere I've ever stayed!

The front desk clerks were both sweet nice girls. They gave us the key to a room already occupied which made me very nervous! Kept the deadbolt locked for the rest of our stay. The beds were very comfy and the bath linens were soft and plush. Nothing else nice to say.....no beach access, no repairs or improvements in decades, TV was so fuzzy it gave me a headache, he remote didn't even work. Missing lamp shades, mirror was peeling, silverfish bugs all over bathroom. Didn't stick around for the breakfast.

We loved staying at the Inn of Beachcomber, infact we booked an extra night. The room we had looked straight on to the ocean and the sun hit the balcony in the afternoon. I read and watched the ocean in blazing sunshine and felt totally relaxed. The rooms were clean, comfortable and slightly quirky, which we really liked. The breakfast was the best we experienced in all the motels and inns we stayed in our tour of Oregon and the reception area had comfy seating and a wine shop! The staff were really helpful, friendly and full of advice. There was a different atmosphere about this place than the usual motels we stayed in and I could have stayed alot longer. It was particularly relaxing.

Room Tip: Ask for one of balcony rooms, the views and the sound of the ocean are wonderful.

Love the very nice people here. Love the easy walk to the ocean. Cute little rooms.. As for the room, it smells. Like old dirty socks. No, worse than that. Not only does the room smell like that but your clothes and you smell like that when you leave. Who wants that? I know I do not and will not ever stay there again even if I had to stay in my car. When our vacation rental came available we washed all our clothes but our luggage still smelled like the room. So we aired them out but could still smell it. Yucko!

Room Tip: No room is a good room. Even the lobby smelled this way. OLD!

I was expecting so much more from this hotel. To start off the latch part of the lock was broken off and we had a hard time locking the deadbolt. The jacuzzi tub on the balcony was nice and had a great view of the ocean, however, there was zero privacy. The lighting in the room was terrible, there were to Tiffany style lamps that didn't provide any lighting. We were hoping to order a movie off the TV but that option was not available. on the plus side, the beach was just outside, we found tons of agates and the bed was quite comfortable.

Very nice room, comfortable beds and even a small gas woodstove, very quaint. Had a hot tub on our deck with a nice view, very clean rooms also.
