“perhaps the owner like to play bartender and thinks the staff can run his restaurant....wrong”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

We visited in April or so, had dinner, seemed a little wierd when it was not busy, to be sittting 2 feet from the bar and waiting 10 minutes for a beer when neither bar or dining was busy, we literally watched the tender(who we later learned was the owner just mill around until he finally delivered the beer. he intoduced himself and the rest of the night and meal was great, i had a steak salad and it was fabulous!!! fast forward to our Anniversary the weekend of August 3rd. Seated at 8;30, bar half full, same at tables. Wiated too long for drinks and water, soda was flat as was beer. owner is glued to the bar as if its not his problem, too concerned with the six people drinking pints at the bar not the folks paying the bills at the tables. Our obviously overwhelmed waiter even did a place set up at the bar for 3 guys while Woody at the bar polished lemons!!! B.S. My wife said her food was as good as the first time except for the cold fries and flat soda. My steak salad was like they ran to burger king two towns over to get it, fatty, no flavor and wilted lettuce. we saw one group of 4 leave after the were seated and sat for 10 minutes and then told it was after 9 and had a limited menu to choose from, 2 different couples wait 15- 20 minutes for the check, both were very patient but annoyed, We will not return and advise you to do the same. I am a business owner myself and a very forgiving person but come on!!! The owner needs to take 3 steps back and punt, anybody can fleece the tourists and hibernate all winter, but i really think managemaent has no clue, hire a professional to run the place and all will be well.

“Food is Good, atmosphere isn't”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

The food is very good as well as the service. The whole focus is the bar scene which is not pleasant for those of us wanting a nice dinner. If you want a view of the Roque River, then you must sit in the bar area, which is loud and annoying.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

After driving through Gold Beach and not seeing anything that appealed to us, we stopped here out of desperation. The Bridge was completely empty at 5:00 pm, just like every other place in town, which made us hesitant to stop. No one wants to eat in an empty restaurant!! The owner was our waiter and not only did he provide us excellent service, he was more than happy to answer all our tourist type questions. We had mini clam chowder bowls and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers . It was obvious from the first bites that everything was made from scratch. Our main course was salmon over linguini and the cod and chips. Both of these were top notch and we were quite impressed by the quality of these dishes, no frozen fish here!! We were so full we had to skip dessert. Made to order cobblers had me wishing I could eat some more. The overall experience made us grateful we drove over the bridge and found this restaurant.

“Magnificent Easter Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We haven't tried The Bridge for a regular meal, but we were extremely impressed when we joined a party of friends there for Easter Brunch. From some other reviews, it looks like the service may have its ups and downs, but on Easter everyone, including the owner, was so attentive, eager to please and warmly friendly.

They set up a salad bar, meat service and dessert selection on some tables, but the real star of the show was the omelet/pasta station out in front of the kitchen. Some of our party went for the omelets, which were huge and included anything and everything anyone could want in them. I asked for a bowl of pasta, which I assumed would be some old spaghetti with a bit of alfredo sauce ladled over it. Wrong! The cook started with the sauce from the pot, but added freshly grated garlic, several kinds of cheeses, and later some penne pasta that he had purposely undercooked so he could complete the cooking with the other ingredients. He finally threw in plenty of bay shrimp just at the right moment. The result was some of the best pasta I've had anywhere at any price with the perfect al dente texture: not too firm or chewy, but certainly not mushy or overdone. They serve pasta dishes for lunch and I've got to go back and try more.

My wife loved the salad bar, and we all found something we liked at the meat station. The lamb was tender and the ham very thin and almost crispy, but tasty. We sampled about a half-dozen desserts apiece and only disliked the rather dry and chewy apple cake. The fruit and chocolate mousse trifle was simply to die for.

The atmosphere seemed warm and cozy with lots of wood decor and a decent view of the Rogue River from some tables. It's as much a bar as a grill and even included one drink apiece for our $22.50 buffet. It looked like a pleasant place for a drink if that's your thing. We were amazed there wasn't a bigger crowd given the food, service and price, but maybe they aren't always hitting on all cylinders like they were on Easter. We'll certainly go back and find out.

“Good food and friendly service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We were a little hesitant to try this place based on a few reviewers comments about friendliness of staff but I will just say we were treated very well; the staff was extremely friendly and accomadating, the food was excellent and the ambiance, northwest pub-style is ver comfortable. Would recommend.
