“Pa-lease clean your hands!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

We ended up at FK at 7:30 pm on a Thursday night, tired from traveling all day and since it was in walking distance from our lovely hotel (Harborview) we decided, per locals reccomendation to give it a shot. When we walked in, we were told they close at 8:00 which we found out in the height of fishing season but did not feel like languishing anyway so we quickly glanced the menu and ordered Oyster and Fish dinner. While taking our order, the waitress sneezed right into her hand and kept going about her regular business. Ewwww! But, WAIT,...it gets better. We sat at the counter so had a birds-eye view of all that was happening. Our waitress continued to wipe her nose, sneeze and handle money and NEVER once washed or sanitized her hands. She did this in full view of all other employees who all seemed to be related as they all looked like the other. (I am not being politically incorrect here...my family owned a restaurant and we all worked there and looked like each other...) Had we not been so tired we would have walked out. Her sanitary habits were unfortunate because our meal was perfectly cooked with the exception of chowder in which we started our meal with. Though it had a great flavor, it had two potatos and 5 bits of clam. More like a gravy. The fish and oysters however were just great as was the slaw and garlic bread. This is not a fancy place, more like an old time lunch counter but the prices reflect more of a mid range restaurant; our meal, for two people with sodas and chowder was $43. We did feel the prices were very fair for what you get (we had almost one whole meal leftover) however, we just could not get past Sneezy and would not return for that reason.

“Some good, some not as much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

After reading reviews of restaurants in Garibaldi, my daughter and I decided we'd try Fisherman's Korner. We ordered the clam chowder and Oyster Stew for starters and then each had the all-you- could eat fish and chips. We'd been out fishing all day and were ravenous.

The clam chowder was good but it had a certain seasoning I couldn't put a finger on that I didn't much care for. The oyster stew was merely a thin milk and butter base soup with juicy oysters at the bottom. This was definitely what I would call a stew.

The fish and chips were delicious. Though the coating on the fish was more of a dark golden corn meal, as opposed to the traditional tempura-type, it was flavorful and succulent. In fact, my daughter and I each ordered seconds! The fries were good, as was the coleslaw. I liked the tartar sauce as it was very creamy.

All in all this little restaurant, located right on the wharf, is a good choice if you are looking for comfort food and 50's atmosphere.

“fish and chips”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

A nice walk from our hotel (Garibaldi House) is the Fisherman's Korner. According to the sign they are suppose to have the best fish and chips in Tillamook County. Not sure that is true. While mine was good, there wasn't anything that screamed out it is the best. Tarter sauce was poor (to much mayo), coleslaw was dry and underseasoned. Fries were hot and plentiful but they were frozen out of the bag. Not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

“Fish and Chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Great food and fast service. This place is not fancy , it's a small restaurant by the port of Garibaldi . It's a place where you sit and enjoy your fish and chips. If you are looking for a place to celebrate an occasion, this is not the place. Trust me , their fish and chips is one of the best in the whole Oregon. The fish (sea bass) never been frozen. Even the clam chowder is good. here. Highly recommended.

“Good fish and chips”

Super fresh sea bass. It was a little crowded and noisy when we were there. It was right on a working pier so the experience was authentic.
