“This is NOT the hotel their website advertises"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2011

If you visit the website of the Old Town Inn hotel, you will hear gentle ocean breezes, which really should be BUSY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. You will see clean and nice rooms, which really should be OLD SHABBY FURNISHINGS WITH NO A/C....you can't open the window to get fresh air due to the highway noise. On their site, you will read about their being DOG FRIENDLY, which they are, but their doggie area is disgusting! Their wireless does not work well, your room can be right next to the ice machine and the office, which ours was. This means the stunning views as shown on their website turns out to be nothing short of seriously ugly. BAD BAD BAD to false advertise a hotel that falls way short of what it truly is. OLD, OUTDATED, NOT CLEAN, PET STAINED CARPET, SMALL PARKING AREA WITH CAR ENGINENOISE ABOUT THREE FEET FROM YOUR BED.....What a huge disappointment this was. We only stayed one night and left.

The managers at Old Town Inn went waaay over the top in their helpfullness to us when we were very tired and needed help planning our trip for the next few days. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the beds exceptionally comfortable. This motel felt like home!

This is one of the best hotels on the southern Oregon Coast.
Very centrally located, large, comfortable, clean rooms. The staff is comitted to making sure your stay is every thing you wish for.
A lot of " Bang for your Buck " and we will be back!

We spent two nights at the Old Town Inn in Florence and our stay was just fine. The location was perfect, just a short walk to many shops and restaurants in Florence’s ‘Old Town’. The furnishings and décor were a little old, but our room and the motel itself were kept quite nice and clean.

This property met our needs as a good place to stay on the Oregon Coast for a reasonable amount.

Note: The wifi was hit and miss in our room

After missing out on the southern Oregon coast with my mom, I decided to dedicate a four day weekend to exploring this neck of the woods. After a little bit of research, I finally settled on staying at the Old Town Inn, located at the south end of Florence Oregon, just north of the Siuslaw River Bridge.

The motel is located just a block or two away from Old Town, well within easy walking distance of good food (be sure to try the chower at Mo's!) kitch gift shops and some riverside parks with good views of the bridge. Although I should point out that being right off Highway 101, you do get some traffic noise from big trucks going by. It's not terribly loud, but if you're a light sleeper, you might be asking for trouble.

Speaking of location, the motel serves as a great base of operations for the nearby attractions. You're just a couple hours drive away from game parks, sand dunes, the Sea Lion Caves, several light houses, a couple waterfalls to the east and a couple of larger cities to the north and south - Coos Bay and Newport, respectively.

As far as the cacilities go, the rooms are large and clean, the beds are nice and firm and the pillows are plentiful and very big. A motel lives and dies on the quality of their pillows in my eyes, and The Old Town Inn fit that bill nicely.

The showers warm up quickly, have good water pressure and the towels are fluffy. While the motel does provide complimentary shampoo and soap, bring your own since their doesn’t lather up worth a damn. Oh and did I mention they provide you a rubber duck for the bathtub? Seriously, that right there is worth an extra star!

Speaking of the bathroom, I should point out a minor annoyance. There is no way to turn on the light in the bathroom on without also turning on the fan. On the grand scheme of things, this is a pretty petty thing to point out but it does make going to the bathroom in the middle of the night for a stealth pee difficult.

The continental breakfast consists of fresh fruit and min muffins with Boyds Tea to drink. Not a lavish affair, but better than you'll get at motel six. The free internet connectivity is pretty good too - I was able to stream and download games without too much bother.

All in all, I was pleased with my four day stay and I would stay again here without hesitation. I mean, how can I resist the lure of that rubber duck?

My husband and I were traveling thru Oregon and we stopped and stayed at the Old Town Inn in Florence. The rooms were bright, nice and clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They made several suggestions for shopping and dining, of which we took their advice and had an excellent meal. We found the shops and restuarants are all within walking distance. The Inn was accommodating to my pets, and I was able to keep in touch with work with the free wi-fi they offer. Our overall experience was a great one. We enjoyed our stay so much that we're already booked into the Inn for a week in October. This Inn does not have a spa or pool.
