I remember visiting the Sand Dunes in Florence, Oregon when I was a teen some 25 years ago. Of all the things we did on that trip, this is the part I remember the most so we decided to take our kids there this year. Aged 10, 8 and 6. We had a great time in the dunes that morning on our own at the Honeyman park and beach (great lake for swimming). We got the Sandland shop around 11 am and they had already sold out for most of the rails for the day. We got all 5 of us on for a 5 pm run. They have larger bus sized rides but I'd recommend paying the extra and getting the 8-10 seater rails to ride in. It was a lot of fun, exciting and sandy. We did the 30 minute ride and it didn't seem like quite enough so I'd recommend the 1 hour trips. Asking my kids about the highlight of our trip, all 3 had no hesitation in picking this one. Hopefully they will remember their Oregon experience as fondly as I still remember mine from my youth.
