“Disappointing stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

My husband and I stayed here last night for the date night special: king size bed, $75 dinner credit, movie tickets, and breakfast. Room was very dated. We thought they'd forgotten the comforter, coverlet looked like a sheet and had blood stain! Sheet itself had a hole. Alarm clock went off at 6:30 am at a maximum volume (when I was a housekeeper it was standard practice to turn off alarms). My husband's breakfast was decent, but no jelly for the toast (was delivered to room). My $8 oatmeal was a bowl of glue, overcooked and inedible. Neither the water nor the heater got very hot. Also, we were located at far end of facility near stairwell with lots of noisy comings and goings throughout the night. There was no booklet with hotel info in room, such as check out times, emergency exit, pool hours, etc.,. There was not a mini fridge nor a microwave. On a positive note, the restaurant served us a fine dinner. Email was sent to the inn this morning after checking out prematurely; no response thus far. Won't be going again and will dissuade others in eugene community from doing so as well.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere. Tried to fill out opinion section on hotel's environmentally-friendly practices in...

We appreciate you taking the time to share about your recent stay with us. First, please accept my apologies that your experience was not what we strive for. The condition and deficiencies you noted about your guest room are absolutely unacceptable and definitely not up to our standards.

I have met with the director of housekeeping, and he shared your experience with the team. All guest’s rooms are to consistent in their cleanliness and condition. This obviously was not what happened here. The restaurant manager has also shared your feedback with the kitchen, both regarding your dinner and breakfast service.

We have a long history of providing outstanding Pacific Northwest Hospitality in the community and to travelers that come to the area. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with the experience that is truly us.

Warm Regards,
George Rogers

We were in Eugene for an intensive three day workshop and it was great to come back to the VRI in the evening to relax. We were on the river side with balcony, which is a perfect place to have a beer or coffee and just watch the world go by. Bed was comfy, room was quiet, and the staff was terrific. Madison at front desk was very helpful in directing me to a local spot. Breakfast room service was prompt and tasty. Nice walking path right in back of hotel as well. Hotel is easy to find from the freeway. Would come again if need to be in Eugene.

Room Tip: Riverside upper floors are best.

This is a very nice, large complex, perfect for business meetings or couples. The rooms are nice-not fancy, but spacious and quiet. Excellent restaurant and bar on site, plus a variety of attractions at the nearby Valley River mall. The service was excellent. One note- it would be nice to have a small fridge and microwave in the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a riverside room.

It was a nice place but certainly dated. Very 60's feeling. Front desk was helpful and nice. Room was big but beds don't have blankets.... Just a sheet and a very thin fleece blanket thing. Had to have room service bring us one. The lounge was great. We sat by the fireplace and played cards while enjoying a drink. I'd recommend it.

The Best thing about this Property is the River View. It was a little pricey for the room, and it certainly needs a little work. We stayed on a last minute trip through the area on a Sunday Night (Late). Not much stands out, except that it was Late and it was Open. I will definitely be looking at other Hotels on my next trip through.

I had a last minute idea to stay in Eugene on a very important day. I called VRI and Olivia was very helpful over the phone. When I arrived I was treated very well. Not made to feel awkward due to my lack of planning.
Love the Executive suite upgrade !!! Beautiful View , Clean Rooms Great service .....we will definitely be back soon!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for river facing rooms
