“Wonderful place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

I booked at this hotel at the advise of my employer for a 2 night training event. I must say it is very easy to locate. The Valley River Mall is right across the street, which by the way, is a very nice mall with tons of name brand shops, great restaurants and a movie theater with Imax. There are also several other quality shops and restaurants dotted by the hotel and within a short walk.

I had already prepaid for the room which was their "Standard King" and was promptly upgraded to an "Extended Stay King Suite"! Which I must say was a very pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and I was checked in within 10 mins.

The room was HUGE, clean and about the size of two standard rooms put together. A couch, chair with ottoman, dining table with four chairs, desk, bar area with mini fridge and king bed was inside. Modern furnishings and a big balcony to boot.

I would not exactly consider it a honeymoon style place but perfect for work or a nice getaway.

I was very pleased with this hotel and will highly recommend to others!

We spent 5 nights here on a business trip and were so happy we really did not want to leave. From the time we arrived and checked in they did everything above and beyond to make sure that anything we needed was provided. Jake was great helping us to our room the night we arrived. All the staff at the front desk helped us with all our requests. Michael was great helping with an important fax I needed to handle. They have coffee available 24 hours a day in the gift shop which I really enjoyed. The room was roomy and had everything that we needed. The bed was comfy and we slept good. There was an iron and ironing board. There was no fridge or microwave, but we don't need one. They have laundry available on the first floor which was great. We ate and had drinks in the restaurant and the staff was great. It was a fun place to unwind at the end of a busy day working. We highly recommend the Valley River Inn and will always stay here when in Eugene for business or pleasure.

Green Features: Always happy to see eco friendly hotels. Anything we do helps!!

Was in Eugene for business and the company booked the rooms. I have never been here before and was pleased with the staff. The check in went smooth. Stayed in room 144. The room was a nice size and relatively clean. Not a very nice view but being on the lower level was nice. My only real complaint was the floor noise from above was quit noisy and loud. Almost to a point where I was going to call the front desk. Other than that the décor was nice and the staff was great.

Room Tip: Maybe get rooms on the top floor in order to eliminate noise from the above floors. Also purchase th...

Green Features: A neat thing was you could decline to have some clean your room in order to save energy and cleaning supplies. Also they do have towel cleaning programme.

We had an early morning international flight out of the Eugene airport. Their service from reservations to delivery to the airport was wonderful. They accommodated many personalized requests without hesitation and made arrangements for us to get to the airport early. The rooms are spacious (very necessary when traveling with lots of luggage and 2 children), and were helpful as we left at 3:45 in the morning. The evening before we were able to walk to the mall across the street for some last minute shopping and a small play area for the kids. Will definitely stay here again.

A great stay the night prior to flying. We did not eat at the hotel, but we will next time. The checking in and out process was a breeze and we were upgraded to a river view room~~which was wonderful.
We did have a bit of a wait for the shuttle upon our return. We will certainly stay again.

Room Tip: love the river view rooms

My wife was at the the Valley River Inn last friday, and spent some time in the lounge. Mike, the bartender, went out of his way to make her feel welcome and safe. It was wonderful to know that the staff took such good care of her, especially on a stressful trip alone.

Red Lion was closing and we needed to stay in town and we were exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally. I am so sorry I don't recall the young lady's name who checked us in because she was so pleasant, friendly and professional! We experienced outstanding guest service throughout our stay.
Breakfast in Sweetwaters was fabulous; generally I don't find much to eat out because of so many food allergies, but the Sunday buffet was perfect...not-to-mention delicious! Again, I don't recall our server's name, but she was excellent. Catered to our needs without hovering.
And our check out experience was perfect as well. Please accept my apologies for not remembering the ladies' names, because they should be called out and rewarded (did I mention I am emotionally drained?).

Room Tip: Our room on the 3rd floor overlooking the river was so lovely, peaceful and quite...just what we nee...
