“Nice place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

The hotel was nice...great swimming pool that is 1 ft for toddlers and location is fabulous...mall is close and a variety of eating establishments. The downside...no fridge in the room, limited coffe, and small pillows.

I stayed at this hotel a little over a year ago and it was a dump! But, since the renovation, the rooms have been dramatically changed! I booked through priceline and when I arrived, they allowed me to upgrad to a King Deluxe room that had to be around 500 sq feet with a balcony for only $5.00 more. What a bargin! The staff was friendly and the surroundings have been updated as well. Great job on listening to the customers and making this once prominent hotel a more enjoyable experience!

Room Tip: upgrade to king deluxe when you get there...it only cost me $5.00

Thank you for giving Valley River Inn another chance. I am happy to see that you enjoyed your stay and our new renovations. As you noted, our rooms are exceptionally spacious compared to most hotels. There are many different upgrades that can be added to your reservation at check in.

I have shared your feedback with the team, and they were happy to see you had a postive experience. We look forward to having you as our guest when you return to the Eugene area.

Quality of the beds was the highlight, they also had larger flat screen TV's. No view at all if you count looking at a parking lot. They promote the place as almost all rooms can see the scenic river. At that the river is not a highlight or great to look at and only a selling point.

The positive is its located across the street from a mall and surrounded by several restaurants.
The room was a bit dark, while the bathroom and sink area were well laid out and upper level nothing compared to their competition. Not impressed if that helps

We hosted an anniversary party at the Valley River Inn this summer. We invited friends and family from out of town to stay in the rooms at the hotel. The clean and updated and modern rooms, lobby, and restaurant were very nice.
The whole experience with the catering staff who helped us with our party was excellent. They are professional, caring, and were attentive to every detail.

Room Tip: Be specific about getting a river view which is worth the small upgrade price. Also specify that you...

On Friday June 29, 2012, my room mate experienced a cardiac emergency around 9:30 PM in
the bar at the Valley River Inn. We immediately began CPR emergency procedures. Within a short time frame assistance from the Valley River Inn arrived. Two well trained employees with a portable defibrillator saved my friend's life. I later learned that the survival rate of these types of cardiac emergencies (ventricular fibrillation) that occur outside a hospital is 2-25 %. On Sunday
my friend had three stents placed in one coronary artery and was released from the hospital the
next day. Advice: ask about emergency help when making reservations!

Got a great deal on Priceline. Original room that we entered reeked like cigarette smoke so I phoned the front desk and within 10 minutes we were escorted to a nearby room. The rooms are very large. No refrigerator or microwave which surprised me. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and our room had a large sliding glass door. Our room looked out on the pool area.
