“Educational, happy place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

It happened to be raining the only day I could go---but they had a couple of umbrellas there to use. The rain was not keeping the bird handlers from taking care of the birds, OR showing them off. My brother has been a "parent" here for a long time (that's what the center calls the ones who adopt a bird and pay toward its care). Birds were being fed, weighed, areas cleaned, and discussed.....it was heartwarming to see these birds saved and cared for! The center is in a sweet wooded area.

“Cascades Raptor Centre - Fascinating!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

When visiting the Eugene OR area, one attraction you should not miss. It's a fascinating and inspiring place to visit and a great way to spend a half day. A wide variety of raptor subspecies are on view - all rescued or recuperating from trauma - and many now unable to survive in the wild because they are too imprinted on humans or have lost their predatory instincts.

“A fantastic, one of a kind experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This was a lovely place up in the wooden area of Eugene. We loved seeing all the birds and reading their stories. While most of them are tragic (most birds ended up there because of impairments that prevent them from surviving in the wild), we loved learning about the way the center revived them and placed them in a safe, loving place. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly, they clearly love what they do. We loved seeing all different types of owls and falcons and especially loved meeting the funky raven that lives there. The center also has beautiful items for sale that support their work - be sure to buy a gorgeous souvenir and help them out. Great place to visit in Eugene.

“Up close and personal with a bald eagle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Wasn't expecting this wildlife center to be as good as it turned out to be. We met and spoke to many handlers who were so nice and informative. There are many different birds and raptors to see and learn about. You are able to view them from a very close distance. They have a beautiful setting in a forested area which was very peaceful and lovely. Best of all is their bald eagle display. We watched the eagle at feeding time eating a large piece of fish. That is something I have never witnessed, nor probably will not again unless I am lucky enough to make another visit to the raptor center.

“Raptor heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

If you enjoy looking at birds, this is up your alley. Various species of raptors are on view up close. There is a nice hiking trail at the entrance if you enjoy a brisk walk to the top of a scenic butte. We happened to be there for the educational lecture and enjoyed learning about the species brought out that day, as well as the bird's personal history. All raptors housed here cannot be released into the wilds for various reasons. Nice setting, nice gift shop, informative staff, incredible collection of raptors.
