“One night in Eugene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011 via mobile

We spent one night in Eugene and at fist we thought the neighborhood coming in was a bit run down but when we got to the inn it was real nice. Richard was a very good host and cooked up a great breakfast. After settling in we were very comfortable and would go back there.

The inn is beautiful and clean. The room, bed, and bathroom were perfectly comfortable. Our room on the second floor had a porch that looked over a lush garden. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious and different every day. Donna and Richard were very nice, there if you needed them. The complimentary wine was appreciated. They provided comfortable bikes to ride the Willamette river bike trail (one-half block away from the inn). We won't want to go anywhere else when we return to Eugene. I have stayed at a few B&Bs over the years and was pleased to discover that the beautiful house/mansion and relaxed, gracious hosts made sure that my stay here was enjoyable and not stressful. I was particularly struck by the particular care that was paid to the quality and diversity of the food, the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom, and the extensive gardens on the grounds, which were quite lovely and will definitely appeal to anyone with a green thumb. I also appreciated the neighborhood that it is located in, with several parks just a block away as well as a bike path. Bikes are provided should one wish to ride about!

Wonderful place to relax and stay in Eugene, Oregon. We've spent several nights here over the past two years and will always return if there's room in the inn. Donna and Richard are super cooks as well as super hosts... and the rooms are immaculate.

Room Tip: The Green Room is the cheapest because the bathroom is down the hall - but the bathroom is still

My husband and I have been attending a weekly Spanish conversation group that is hosted at this bed and breakfast one night a week this summer. We found out about the group because my parents stay at this B&B everytime they visit us in Eugene (three years running now!) Donna and Richard are wonderful hosts. Their house is warm and inviting, comfortable yet elegant. Donna never fails to provide us with delectible treats and teas each evening during our group. We always join my parents for breakfasts when they are staying here as they are so pleasurable. The neighborhood is picturesque as are the B&B's gardens. I am new to Eugene but this environment makes me feel right at home.

Room Tip: The room with the back porch attached is especially romantic at night.

We have just returned from a trip to the West Coast where we stayed in a number of varied accommodations. Our two nights with Richard and Donna at the River Walk Inn were certainly one of our best experiences. The rooms were large and comfortable. We were lucky enough to enjoy the porch off the green room one cool night. Donna makes great breakfasts and Richard's French toast is a great way to start the day. We enjoyed getting to know them by lingering after meals. They were delightful hosts. Donna's suggestions for eating out in Eugene scored 100%. The neighborhood is lively and fun. We had great walks to the Rose Garden and along the river, and we conquered Eugene's public transportation systems All in all, a wonderful memory!.

This so called B&B is in a very unattractive neighborhood. The male owner was very unkempt, (wife was not there), the house was odorous, dirty and cluttered. The rooms did not even look like picture on website. I have stayed in numerous B&B's and none have ever looked this shabby. They require a 72 hr cancellation otherwise you are charged for the night. I was charged for the night because I could not stay there. This is a scam business because after you see the place inside you will not want to stay there and they will have your money. That must be how these owners get their money. This is false advertising, they show you nice pictures on website but beware it is not as they claim. I was thoroughly disappointed.
