“Glad we didn't have to pay for it!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2010

We were given a gift certificate for an anniversary gift- it was noted in our reservation that we were there as part of a date night package. We were seated at a river view table, but right next to a group of four people who were obviously there for a business meeting and had gone through a couple of bottles already. Their conversation was loud and crude and ruined what could have been salvaged from our experience.
We were on a schedule, but had almost two hours for dinner. For the food we got, an hour-long wait did not measure up. I'd wait an hour for outstanding food, but this was entirely sub-par. My husband hardly ate his poor quality steak and while my chicken was edible, I could have made better luke-warm chicken at home for much cheaper.
We ordered dessert- hoping to fill in the gaps that dinner left- I wouldn't be surprised to find that the desserts were made off-site and kept in cold storage until ordered.
Unless you get a gift certificate, don't bother.

“Unacceptable”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2010

We ordered the $32 steaks medium rare. They came out, not only overcooked, but mostly gristle and not edible. Water suggested filet and took the steaks away. The filet was not much better. Never heard of filet with mostly gristle and fat. It is clear they are cutting cost of food and screwing customers.

Next day we had breakfast, since we stayed at Valley River Inn, and we had omlets. they were dry and maybe had some cheese but could hardly find it.

Nice atmoshphere and experience tarnished by incompetent server who served a slab of meat by mistake when the only vegetarian dish on the menu was ordered. Wouldn't bring a date here again...
