Cool place, very Eugene. Good value and tasty pizza. A pretty small place, family - run, with a sparse indoor dining room and a tiny little patio area out back. They always have local , seasonal and organic toppings ( like locally harvested hedgehog mushrooms ) as well as a thoughtful beer list. Beers are sold by the pitcher, glass or bottle. Many bottled and organic wines to choose from also.
Best pie there is the siuslaw , which has smoked salmon, garlic sauce, red onion, spinach fresh tomato and a squeeze of lemon. they squeeze on the fresh lemon right before they serve it, so it is very fresh tasting. They do a good job with the crust: thin &, crispy. The toppings are not too heavy, which I like. Nutritional yeast on the table for your old school hippie sprinkling pleasure and for the lactose intolerant.
We were stopping here for a pie about once a month but once we discovered happy hour we are here weekly. I am not sure why we don't go every day. $1 Cheese slices with .25 add'l toppings and $3 micros and $1 off wine. The slices are slightly smaller, but for a buck ( or $1.25 if you add the days local/fresh item... ) you order a few slices each, wash it down with a pitcher of Boneyard and a couple can successfully shake off the post work blues for about $12 plus tip FOR REAL.
The line can get long at happy hour, be prepared. The service service is fine enough for a small place and friendly , but standing in line can be tedious. hence the pitchers. Once you order at the counter, they do bring it out very fast. They just run around saying your name .
A must try. tip: Pick up a pie to go and take it to Oakshire for an alternate happy hour.
