“It was supposed to be better...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

I've read several of the positive reviews. They're impressive. Thus our review is a bit "off color". We were given the opportunity to create a paperweight by our daughter (North of Seattle) as a gift. The resident glass 'artist' had my wife specify the paperweight she'd prefer. She did so, and the procedure began. It was handled well, and professionally, but when the completed (and cooled) paperweight was sent to us in Roseburg, it was virtually black -- none of the colors requested -- and even without a balanced flat base. Thus our review is positive for the experience itself, but quite negative for the result. When my wife called about the item, the young woman who answered told her -- essentially -- 'that's the way it is'. We're disappointed.

We are very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your finished product. Hand blown glass is full of imperfections and we do explain this on our website, some times glass cracks, it can come out uneven and the color have bad reactions with each other. We do make a point in each class that if you mix colors together that they can turn dark and brown, if this was not mentioned during the class we apologize. Studio West makes a point in giving each customer 5 star treatment and try and help each student come out with the best finished product possible. We were kind enough to ship you your glass free of charge because you lived out of town (shipping is not part of the class fee). Again we are sorry you were unhappy with your finished product, but that is just how glass works some times.

“Great afternoon with my girls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

We were looking for something fun and different to do while spending some time in Eugene OR. My daughters loved it and we all learned a lot about glass and then got to take home our hand blown ornaments. Fun, entertaining, hands on, different. A great afternoon. They were also very accommodating for my daughter in a wheelchair.

“I'm not into artsy kind of things but this was amazing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

My family and I went to Studio West an made paperweights. The experience was like no other! Instead of just sitting and watching someone make glass they give you a hands on experience.
