“simply a room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

We chose the 'economy room' of the two choices available that evening, but found a real little gem with 'authentic' push button electric stovetop and matching wall oven. Ok we didn't use them, but they were neat to inspect. The bed was comfy, everything was clean, I think the slate floors are such a great idea. Our hosts were very helpful when they saw us with maps spread every which way on the lawn, making the next couple of days route plan. A very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

$79 for a comfortable and clean room. We were passing through onto another day of exploring Oregon and tripped across this honey of a motel. Don't know what this is like in-season, but great find in October

Stayed the weekend in one of the new lodge rooms, and although they're pet-friendly, they're very clean. My dog and i left it clean too, btw. I enjoyed the big flat screen TV, the vent free fireplace (the only heat source needed on an early spring night), and after a day at Hoodoo, the jetted tub was perfect. Comfortable bed, well-designed little kitchenette & sink, no closet but plenty of pegs & a luggage rack. I walked across to The Cedars & had a great Reuben sandwich & some tasty IPAs - fun little place, lots of history about the town. The tiny (one flashing light) town itself is a little short of quaint, but it's cute & perfectly decent. There is no lake access here, but it's close, at the state park. I'll stay again on my next trip to Hoodoo Spring Fling.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in July 2011. The accomodations were great ~ a large beautiful room ~ very rustic with vaulted ceilings and wooden beams, corner gas fireplace. It was a perfect find! There was a small table/chair setup and a mini kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave and a full bath. Also outside the rooms were charcoal grills for the guests' use.
Cost was a little high at $144 but I consider it worth the price because the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the French Creek room - quiet, comforable, rustic!

For our Anniversary this year we stayed at the Lodge at Detroit Lake. We have seven children, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchidren and really wanted some time for ourselfs. We have stayed in hotels, motel and Inns all over the country. The Inn at Detroit Lake is the best and we both are more relaxed then we have been in years. The wonderful cozy fireplace, 42 inch flat screen TV you can watch while laying in the most Comfortable mattress we've ever had anywhere we have stayed. The extra care they give. I have already made dozens of calls telling everyone how great our time there was. We'll be back soon.

I decided to take my friend to Detroit Lake Lodge for her birthday. We had been there previously and our friends, Sara and Safford, the management team, were more than welcoming! As always the room was clean, warm and cozy. We became friends with Sara and Safford and found ourselves cooking at night with not only them, but other guests at the Lodge. My friend said she had the best birthday of her life! And yes we will return to Detoit Lake Lodge. Thanks kids! We love you guys! Love, Bart and Helen :~}

Room Tip: Room 4 is excellent but go for #5!
