“Go for the gardens!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

My mom and I recently stayed here on a girl's trip to Oregon. Our room was clean and comfortable and had its own private patio. The lobby is very nicely decorated and the staff is very helpful. They provide a nice complimentary breakfast that you can eat in the dining room or take outside - try the homemade zucchini bread if they have it. All that said, the real reason to stay here is the immaculate grounds. They boast over 14 different gardens all over the property. Ask at the front desk for the self-guided tour map and make sure you leave at least an hour to see all of the beautiful touches in these gardens. They play host to a lot of weddings and you will see why!

Wow...what a nice two day package they offered....the inn had a nice king room...clean and easy to access...the breakfast each morning was very nice...you could make your own waffles plus they had hot omelets. The gardens were beautiful and diverse...but I do not think many people took advantage of the 14 acre refuge. The winery tours were great...you just need to figure out the system. Oh yes, the evening gourmet dinner with wine was superb...just remember that after a day of wine tasting you can take the wine home. A great adventure...

Room Tip: Excellent stop enroute to Portland.

Easy access from I-5, lovely gardens and excellent service at the front desk. Typical motel room, but with a lovely back deck surrounded by gardens. Too bad the gardens are right next to the freeway. I had a standard room, nothing special. The travelzoo package included breakfasts and dinners. Very nice breakfast buffet - make your own waffles, cereal, etc. Dinners and restaurant service were inconsistent - one night fantastic seafood (stuffed trout with crispy vegetables) and attentive service, the second night, prime rib with overdone vegetables and basically ignored by server. I walked out! I enjoyed Cottage Grove and the decor and gardens of the main building. But I wouldn't drive six hours for it again.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgraded room with a garden patio.

Spent two nights here in mid August. The pet friendly resort is well above what I expected. The room was ample and the private patio added the perfect romantic touch. The dinner ,included with our room was the best of our 2 week road trip. Traveling around cottage grove is a delight. The covered bridge trail was a nice afternoon drive, and an occasional stop along the road to enjoy Oregon,s wild Blackberries was delicious.

Room Tip: Just enjoy

We stumbled upon the Village Green Resort while on our honeymoon. When we opened the door and walked into our Deluxe, 2 Queen Room we were pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of a French garden room, with fluffy white comforters, quaint furniture, romantic fireplace and charming private patio. We immediately changed our plans and stayed several nights. We bought the Escape Dinner Package, which included the room and delicious dinner in their restaurant. We also enjoyed the acres of gardens, swimming pool and live entertainment in the lounge. This has become one of our favorite getaways over the years!

Room Tip: I highly recommend the Deluxe, 2 Queen rooms. Some of the other rooms are not as bright and charmin...

My wife and I stayed here recently and enjoyed our visit. We did not stay in an updated room and missed having a small refrigerator. Otherwise we were quite pleased. The room was large, very clean, and had a garden view. The outdoor pool and hot tub are well maintained and the garden setting is lovely. The breakfast buffet was good; dinner was quite good with nice service and generous portions. The grounds are truly gorgeous. I think the inn was once a golf course and if you look carefully you can imagine some of the original layout. The property is quite close to the Row River Bike Trail and several covered bridges which make for some lovely bike riding. It doesn't get much better than a sweet bike ride followed by an afternoon by the pool.

Room Tip: Updated rooms come with a small refrigerator and private back patio.

You can tell that maintaining and restoring this huge property right off I-5 in Cottage Grove has been a labor of love on the part of Moonstone Resorts which also owns the amazing Oregon Garden resort n Silverton OR. Two friends joined us there for a two day package that included dinner for two incl. bottle of estate wine for one evening, continental breakfasts, and vouchers for six wine tastings for two and discounts at local restaurants. Many wineries were close by and some took us way out in the countryside. We loved walking through the acres of gardens, and we marveled at the thought of maintaining them so well for decades. The outdoor pool and hot tub gave us a nice way to relax after tough job of driving around sipping wine all day.

Room Tip: Probably no need to upgrade to deluxe
