This is a perfectly pleasant Holiday Inn Express without really much to make it stand out from the HIE crowd one way or another. Staff is pleasant, the property is nice. The views of the river do add a little bit to the place, giving it a slight "resort" feel. The indoor pool is also a nice touch.
However, something must be done about Holiday Inn Express and their "hot" breakfast. It is better to do something minimal and do it well than to continue to do something over-the-top poorly. Unlike other HI Express, where the eggs were watery scrambled eggs. this property tried to make cheese omelettes. Unfortunately, they were not fresh, and rubbery to boot. Additionally, the more conventional "continental" offerings suffer to make room for the inedible egg dishes: again, another HIE breakfast that could have been saved by a decent cheese or berry Danish if one was available.. but alas, I had to settle for a slightly stale poppyseed muffin and cold cereal.
On a positive note, like all other Holiday Inn Express properties, it is tastefully appointed and offers enough of the little touches that makes it a decent value. I'd just skip their breakfast and walk a few blocks to the neighborhood McDonalds.
