Since we had our dog with us we were limited to certain rooms. The first room was nearer the traffic and was quite noisey. We were able to move a little further away from the main road, but still quite a bit of truck noise. It seemed that a large truck was ideling near the hotel for a long time. We ate at the motel and the food was so bad that we couldn't even finish it. Front office personnel were not particulary friedly. All in all a good place to avoid.

The Red Lion chain can usually be trusted to provide decent accommodations, unfortunately this Coos Bay location puts a bit of tarnish on the Red Lion's reputation. To be fair, much of the blame can be placed on the town of Coos Bay which is one of the Oregon coast's most disappointing places. We would suggest that if you have the time to drive farther in either direction, keep going.

Our two queen room was huge and had two vanities for our three toothbrushes. We didn't notice any problem with cleanliness. The room had free wifi, a mini fridge and a soon to be museum piece tv. The pool is quite small for the size of the property. Aside from the onsite restaurant, there are no other restaurants or stores within walking distance.

Room Tip: Two floors, no elevator.

We found this hotel to be older and somewhat dated, with balconies containing exterior entrances to the rooms. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is located right on highway 101 in an industrial area of town with few restaurants available nearby. We ended up eating at the casino down the street and had to walk through thick cigarette smoke to get to the restaurant. Breakfast was provided with our room and it was good. Next trip we will likely find another hotel in another location with more restaurants close by.

There isn't much of a choice in Coos Bay for motels. We went by what the booking company had marked as a 3 and a half out 5 Motel. The place is so-so on cleanliness. The chair in the room was so soiled we had to use our beach chairs to sit on in the room. The was no additional table, just a small desk. Bathroom was a little unusual. Motel needs a deep clean and a remodel as well. Not a motel we will be staying in again. We will be going to Mill Casino, just North of Coos Bay, for our next stay.

The motel was good, about what we expected. We would stay there again. What set them apart for us was that they went out of the way for us. My wife got sick, had to go to the ER during the night. The night manager was there to help, and they extended our check-out the next day to 2PM, so we could sleep in.

My company purchase my stay. It was ok! But toward the end. My room key didnt work. And the last night of my stay, there was blood stained sheets and pillow case on the bed. When I checked out I mentioned it to the assistant. She was more worried about her workers then how the room looked.
