“COOS BAY INSPECTION TRIP”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

The hotel is conveniently located right between North and South bound Hwy 101. The room was very spacious and the internet worked great without any issues. The breakfast had many choices from cereal variety to hot eggs, sausage links and potatoes. My wife and grand-daughter really enjoyed the pool too! The hotel was very courteous and professional and responded rapidly when our TV Cable network went out! We've stayed here before and we'll stay here again!

Everything was nice and what we expected. Lots of choices for everyone at the breakfast buffet. Staff was very nice and helpful. There was an odor in our room and our daughters as well. Might be time for a good cleaning or new. Other than that everything was really nice!

The room was very large, with extremely comfortable beds. All the amenities you could ask for - sofa bed; overstuffed chair; micro; and refrigerator. Lots of lamps, and tables. All the comforts of home. Very clean! Great breakfast buffet with many choices which were well stocked. A nice indoor pool and spa. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions about the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice clean older motel, it is well maintained although a bit high in price considering its age and that it is what I call a motel, outside access to your room. Breakfast room was small, selection typical of Best Western, which is lacking compared to competitors, limited seating. Would stay there again if in the area.

The title of this review says it all! It is a great location. Ask for a quiet room as a buffer from the highway noise. We stayed on a Sunday eve & were not bothered by traffic in the least. Room was comfortable & clean + free breakfast= great value. Staff cared about readiness of room - & were helpful with dining options:)

We spent 3 nights here last week. Price was reasonable for the area. Older property located in the wide median between the northbound and southbound lanes of US Hwy 101. Near downtown Coos Bay and an easy walk to several restaurants and shopping. Nice farmers market every Wednesday a short walk. Although we reserved and were given a non-smoking room, it had a strong cigarette odor. The desk clerk was friendly and readily relocated us. Again, the next room had a smoking odor, but aired out with window and door open. If advertise as non-smoking and psot notices on doors that room is non-smoking, the staff needs to enforce it. Highway noise was loud with windows open, and the railroad tracks are just across the highway--fortunately only a few slow trains per day, but one went by at 7am. . Parking in the back section of the hotel was odd--have to drive in one way, but no exit in that direction, so had to back out onto Hwy 101 to exit. Nice furnishings, although a bit crowded with 2 queen beds, dresser, TV stand, desk with chair, 2 sitting chairs and a card-table sized end table. Conveniently it had the sink in the room and separate from the bathroom. Indoor pool looked clean, but we didn't have a chance to try it. Good hot breakfast included--typical industrial scrambled eggs, sausage, b'fast potatoes, coffee, pastries, waffle maker, canned peaches and watered down juices. Overall, great staff but they all need to learn to penalize the smokers who violate the rules.

Room Tip: Ask for room on second floor in the middle--quieter than those on the ends

We stopped in Coos Bay on a road trip from the Bay Area to Portland. We stayed just one night. The hotel suited our needs. There was a pool for the kids to play in, and a good breakfast in the morning. The staff called ahead of time to let us know they could not fulfill our request for adjoining rooms, which I appreciated. Overall the staff was friendly, but for a little incident involving a clogged toilet. The hotel was easy to find and met our expectations.
