Every review we have given for this place has been outstanding. So listen to this.
We made reservations for a table by the window, but when we arrived, there weren't any available. Just what are reservations for?
We noticed that the bread was not as good as it used it be. Also, the menu said the salad came with garbanzo beans, but instead it came with kidney beans, which my husband hates. The creamy Italian dressing was kind of orange, like Thousand Island, which was also different.
Now for the waiter. Oh my gosh he was pushy! Kept on and on about the lobster dish, which at $30 was the most expensive item they had. One of our party asked for the senior special sirloin steak with pasta and salad. He tried to steer her away from it, saying that it came with about a tablespoon of spaghetti, and that the senior menu provided very small portions. She also asked for just garlic and butter on her spaghetti. He said they never use butter in the restaurant, but maybe they could use olive oil. When she asked for her steak rare, he informed her that due to health regulations, they NEVER serve rare steak, just kinda rare. She replied that she didn't want it RAW, just make sure it's rare! It was a very awkward exchange, and my friend was starting to get a little irritated with the waiter.
So when her food arrived, the steak was accompanied by a huge portion of some sort of tubular pasta. The waiter never commented that this was replaced by the "tablespoon of spaghetti" that he had promised would be served.
Also, the waiter kept offering all kinds of different appetizers, entrees, wines, desserts, etc. We knew what we wanted...it's like we couldn't shut him up!
Max, we know he's trying to push the pricey stuff, but enough is enough! I hope your business is doing okay and you aren't just having your wait staff try to make you more money. The waitresses we have had before NEVER did this. It's really very annoying.
