“Great Value for your money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Great locations, service, and very comfortable. Staff very helpful. We had questions of directions, places to see, and here to eat. All were answered and good info was given. It was close to all the sites we wanted ot see.

I headed through Cascade Locks while moving from Washington to Oregon. The hotel looks updated and very nice, and the room was very clean and spacious with a VERY comfortable bed. The odd things about the room were the layout and the appliances. The vanity was not separated from the room at all, just kind of stuck on the wall along with the VERY dated looking fridge and microwave. It's like they updated the hotel and just left the old appliances in there. But it was clean! The breakfast was very big and it was very tasty, and the breakfast person was extremely friendly and brightened up my morning. The front desk staff, on the other hand, seemed bothered to do more than the bare minimum..The thing that really impressed me was the rate. It was a king room, not on the river side, for $89. That is a raving deal if you ask me! Also, it was kind of awkwardly located when getting off of the highway.

Dear Guest, thank you for staying with us in Cascade Locks, I'm sorry the location was difficult for you, we only have one street and one in and out. We invite you to return to the Columbia River Gorge once you are settled in your new location.

This hotel has almost everything anyone could want, but cannot do anything about the constant train noise. The hotel sits right next to a major train route. The trains went by about every 45 minutes, way into the night, until I finally fell asleep. Earplugs are provided, but I don't like wearing them. At least the train engineer doesn't blow his horn when passing. But the beautiful river and bridge views are spectacular! I consider the price rate a little high only because of the train noise issue.

You are correct, we have trains and I wish I could move that track. Thank you very much for staying with us and we invite you back to enjoy all the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area has to offer.

The hotel is as good as the location. Beautiful views of Columbia River Gorge, and very nice and super-spacious rooms. There are lots of trains going by, so if that bothers you, you might want to give up the river view and stay on the other side. However, they provide ear plugs if the trains will keep you up at night. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Dear Guest,
If I could move that train track I would do it today. Despite the tracks on both side of the Columbia River, the view is still spectacular and I never get tired of it. Thank you for staying with us and we invite you to return and enjoy the Gorge.

the room was nice. It would have helped to have two sinks. Our room's door to the hallway would jam so we could not open or close it easily. The hotel responded promptly when we reported this and replaced the lock. A hotel employee entered our room on the last day and was surprised to see us there. They said that their report stated the room was vacant and dirty. Then when we returned to our room later that evening our card keys no longer worked. We needed to bring a manager back to our room after we received reprogrammed keys. The hotel staff responded promptly and pleasantly to each incident.

This is a very nice hotel. It sets right on the Columbia River with beautiful views of the river. We only spent one night, and because we were visiting friends across the river, it was a short night with an early morning departure so we didn't get to really enjoy the hotel amenities, but I would definitely recommend this hotel as a place to spend at least a couple of days. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable.

No we didn't need the earplugs and we were on the river side of the hotel. My only problem was that we were in the basement and couldn't really get a good view of the river or the bridge. The walk behind the hotel only goes to the next property. Breakfast was good and the lady in charge of breakfast was really so nice. Hotel is clean, staff is friendly, check in smooth.
I would say the only thing I would do next time is to insure you have an upstairs room or at least a walk out with a patio that was the only disappointment.

Dear Guest, if I could move that train track I would do it today, I am so happy it did not give you a bad time. Thank you for staying with us and we invite you to return so that we may get you on a higher floor and the view you would prefer. We look forward to your return to the National Scenic Area.
