“Our new favorite place on the north coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2007

We live on the south coast of Oregon and enjoy taking advantage of mid-week specials during the winter months to explore the north coast. We'd heard about the Cannon Beach Hotel and
found that there was a three night special starting at $140 total, and decided to give it a try...what a great surprise! The exterior sports a shingled "Cape Cod" look, while the interior feels very classy and upscale in taupe, white and black. We decided to try the small room the first time, but since the place was not busy, the manager upgraded us to a room with a fireplace at no extra charge! The room was perfect in decor with cd player, dvd player, fine bedding, marbled gas fireplace and a great vintage bathroom with a classy feel. We chose the the time for our morning paper and basket of beverages, fruit, yogert and pastries to be delivered with a subtle knock on the door. We were even provided with a coupon for a free dvd rental at the shop around the corner. The location is only one block from the beach and Haystack Rock, and only a short walk to all the fun shops and restaurants in town. The Gower Street Bistro is also located in the building and worth the stop for any meal. All rooms but one are upstairs, so a walk up is necessary. If you try the three night special, you might consider the next room size up at just over $200 for a little more lounging space (we toured them all.) The value was great and rooms much nicer than expected...and best of all, we felt like we had the whole town to ourselves. Nothing beats a cozy room during the winter storms of the Oregon coast...and we will definitely return!

This is a cozy hotel! Spent one night here in June, 2006 and wish I'd stayed longer!! This quaint little hotel has excellent customer service and beautiful rooms. Our room was furnished with beautiful furniture, local art on the walls, a gas fireplace and plenty of saltwater taffy! In the morning, a basket is delivered with a newspaper, hot beverages of your choice, fruit, yogurt and scones. The environment is secure enough in this hotel that when we accidentally left our key in the door, we were undisturbed. The location is also fantastic, at the entrance to haystack rock. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a little pampering.

My husband and I were married almost four years ago and we stayed at the Courtyard and it was a great hotel. The room had a european flare to it and was very nicely decorated. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable, the jacuzzi tub was very nice, and the balcony overlooking the courtyard gave it a nice touch. Overall, the room was very nice which is good since most of our time was spent in there.

I had happened upon the McBee Cottages during an internet search because I was looking for a deal. I think the rate I was looking at was a mere $55 a night and I love bargains! So I emailed asking about a particular cottage and rec'd a lovely email back with more info and it asked that I call their 800 number if I'd like to make a reservation. I called and spoke with Carrie. She was fantastic because she explained that the cheap room I was inquiring about was a pet friendly room and she did not recommend that for our baby...I didn't know it was pet friendly and wouldn't have even enertained the idea. Instead of going along with my request/demand of that certain room, she found out more about us and recommended something that we would be happier with. She explained that they have recently remodeled and #28 was open. She was even so kind as to compromise on the rate! And now we are hooked! We have a visit booked for this coming week in fact and again when I called for a reservation(#28 wasn't available)a lovely lady suggested a remodeled room just like the one we fell in love with!
I highly recommend the remodeled McBee Cottages---ask which they are upon reserving---they picked a wonderful color scheme to look crisp and clean!

Cannon Beach Hotel Lodgings, Courtyard, had become a favorite place to stay for me and my husband. We spent our honeymoon there in July of 2004 and returned again in July of 2005. We had hoped to stay at Cannon Beach Hotel Lodgings again in November 2005 to do our Christmas shopping in Cannon Beach because we had received a "Three Night Special" offer when we stayed there in July–"three nights, 2 people, at all three inns starting at $149 total, October 1 - June 15." There was no expiration date on the card. When I called to try to take advantage of the offer, I was told by the assistant manager that the general manager had indicated that they had thousands of the cards printed up and that they were old. In short, they wouldn't honor it. In reading other reviews, another couple for whom Cannon Beach Hotel Lodgings had become a favorite place to stay over the years had a similar experience with the customer "service." His wife had become ill on their trip and they had requested a slightly later check out. Their request was denied. Great place to stay and eat, but don't recommend the customer "service" if you want anything beyond the normal check in. We won't be returning.

Hi there

Arrived at the hotel at 0230 saturday morning and crashed right away! Woke up in the morning and were welcomed by a basket full of pastries, yogurt, coffee and a newspaper. What a great way to start off the day! The hotel itself is a heritage building and very well-maintained and clean. There is a cafe downstairs with a small, eclectic menu and a lounge with a fireplace and several comfortable couches for lounging. We stayed in the standard room, which was quite cozy (read: small) but very clean and relaxing. The suites are considerably larger and have a queen bed and a fireplace in them, so we would probably opt for that if we were to return. My only complaint was that the shower was laughably small, and made showering a bit of an ordeal. That being said, we'd stay here again in an instant!
