“Mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

This place wasn't bad but it was not really good either. My husband and I tried the French dip sandwiches and we immediately decided that the ones we make at home are much better. The service that we received was excellent, but the restaurant was pretty empty. The ambiance is cozy, with the wood all around and the fireplace. The prices were too high for the average-quality food that was received. I think we will pass on this place and try some other restaurants next time.

“Best breakfast in Cannon Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

This was the perfect breakfast restaurant on a cold windy day at the beach. Sat close to the fireplace, had a lovely meal, all homemade and with a special country touch, with a friendly staff and fun old timey atmosphere.

“Surprised by poor reviews!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Although I usually check Tripadvisor for advice on restaurants, I am certainly glad I did not check this one out first. I am surprised by all of the negative reviews...it does not reflect our experience at all. We (two middle aged couples) were in Cannon Beach for one day on a cruise stop. Just about the time we were hungry and looking for someplace to stop and eat, we ran into another couple we had met on the cruise. They had just eaten at Morris' and highly recommended it. They had eaten the Dungeness Crab and raved about it. The restaurant was very convenient, just on the main street across from the beach. I have read many reviews indicating that the service was bad. As close as I can come to “bad” was that when we walked in...there was nobody around to seat us. We waited a few minutes, wondering what to do. After a couple of minutes a lady did show up, and took us to a table. She did not apologize for the wait, but neither was she rude. A nice young man came to the table immediately to take our drink orders. We had no problems with the service at all. He was friendly, quick, and our orders were correct. Many of the other customers in the restaurant appeared to be “regulars”, the staff knew them, and the cook came out to talk to several of them. Among the four of us, we had pulled pork, hamburger, clam chowder, and the Dungeness crab. All of us were satisfied with our meals. The price did not seem out of line for what we got. We all liked the atmosphere...it is a cute and cozy log cabin, and we sat right next to the fireplace. The restroom was very clean (something I always check out). There are old pictures of the area hanging on the walls, and the hostess/cashier answered our questions about them. Was this a once in a lifetime, unforgettable meal? No. But it was good food in a nice atmosphere, and if we ever find ourselves back in Cannon Beach we would return.

“Great service and yummy food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Not crazy about the atmosphere, it was cozy but needed some help with décor. I ordered a halibut sandwich (not fried) and it was delicious and plenty for 2 to share at lunch. It came with a creative and healthy vegetable/fruit salad. The service was great- attentive and friendly.

“Very cozy restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

I saw other reviews indicating they had service problems here, maybe it's off-season, but we had the opposite experience. Great pace to visit, good food and good service.
