“Awful razor clams and MIA service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

First, the positives: friendly greeting by the hostess and prompt seating at the table (window) I had requested. Waitress came over, was very personable and promptly brought us our drinks. I questioned her about the quality of the razor clams as they can be awful: rubbery and tasteless. She assured me they were fantastic and she would guarantee this. So my husband and I ordered them. I knew as soon as they arrived at our table that they would be awful and they were. The waitress came over fairly quickly as she had observed my husband frowning. She asked us if they were okay to which we responded as kindly as we could that they were not. She agreed to switch the order to scampi which took awhile to receive. Meanwhile, she totally disappeared for the rest of our time, didn't apparently hear us that we wanted to look at the dessert tray, instead presented the check. We finally had her appear and told her we would like to see the dessert options. She mentioned something about it would take awhile to see the dessert tray but then another wait staff came over and showed us the options. What greatly annoyed me is sitting there waiting for sevice and also not having our dishes cleared in a timely manner. Does this restaurant not have busboys, etc? By contrast there was another server who was a rock star. He had many tables assigned to him all over this fairly large restaurant. He gave his customers awesome, attentive service. All in all a disappointing experience and we probably will not return.

“Terrific service, food and view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu dinner at the Wayfarer. It was just at 5 PM and our waiter was so friendly and accommodating--even gave us great tips on what to visit in the area. It was going to be a busy night for him (art show weekend) and he was gracious and friendly. The food was wonderful--we all ordered clam chowder and seafood. The Rex Sole was delicious, light and tender. The salmon was firm but not tough at all, perfectly done. It was so nice to sit and enjoy a meal together in a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

“Fine food and also good happy hour deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We went to this place a couple times when we were in Cannon Beach. The happy hour has some great deals which we really enjoyed. Also, we went a different night for a late night romantic dinner and the food was great. Very good fine dining. Wasn't overyly spectacular but was very good and the service was awesome!

“Good views, pretty good lunch and fresh food, service was lacking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Three of us ate lunch here after spending the morning sightseeing. After we were seated we all decided on our meals and picked salads and light choices. I guess the waitress was not too happy about our choices because she simply made an "OK" noise after taking our orders. Maybe since our bill was going to be lower than she would have liked? We did not see our waitress til the end of our meal when she cleaned off our table. Other waitstaff made an effort to be friendly at their tables. We got a cold, uninterested vibe from ours. And for a fine dining establishment such as this one, its unacceptable.

One of our best meals of the trip. Friendly waitstaff...we went twice. Great bargain after walking the beaches is their happy hour menu from 3-5
