“Clear view to the Ocean and Quick Exit to the Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

This place has it all, in the heart of Cannon Beach. We were in ground floor unit 331which has a small full kitchen, fireplace and nice shower-bath. There is a small nook looking out over the beach to the water in this unit, most other units have this view blocked by structures. This motel uses keys (how quaint) but that allows you to leave by the beach side door and still lock up behind. Only drawback was a non-working wi-fi for most of our stay and NO CELL access at this location.

Room Tip: Ask for a true ocean view.

We have stayed at the Waves Beach House for many family Thanksgiving get togethers and it is a perfect setting. We rented several of the surrounding small rooms as well for that week and it could not be more fun or more convenient. You don't even really need a car once you get there. Just bring all your food and I recommend bringing your own cooking utensils if you are doing a big dinner. There are kitchens in all the little places for cooking but the big house has plenty of room in the big country kitchen and dining room.

Room Tip: The Beach House sleeps 6 at least and can find room for more here and there. The Lighthouse is an u...

We booked a room at The Waves for two nights in July. Due to the holiday week, they said that the least expensive rooms were booked, but they had an ocean view room for a higher cost. Since many other hotels in Cannon Beach were booked, we went for it.

I'm sorry to say that The Waves did not meet my expectations. The view and the location were great, but the room itself had not been updated since the 1980s at least. There were cobwebs everywhere, and the furniture was very shabby. It didn't look anything like the rooms photographed on the website. I would not stay here again.

I recently took my brother, mother and twin three year olds to stay at the Waves at Cannon Beach for a couple of days. It turned out to be a great place for us - we got the 2 bedroom condo so, although it was a bit expensive, it accomodated all of us comfortably and was only a short walk to the beach. The pool and jacuzzi were wonderful since they were in close proximity to each other - that means adults can enjoy the jacuzzi while overyly stimulated crazy children can spash to their hearts content in the pool a few feet away! The beds were very comforable and from the deck we were able to see the ocean. The condo is only a short walk to Mo's restaurant which is a great place to take children if dining out. Overrall a nice place for a family to stay if they cannot afford oceanfront.

The location is great. I read the other reviews and decided to stay on the courtyard side. You are still close to the beach. We decided to save to money for some nice meals. The bed a comfortable and the room was clean.

I just want to send a warning that the room is very bright in the morning. We stayed at the end of June. At 5:00 in the morning the sun was shining into the room with the shades down.

Great hotel stayed in the garden studio so no ocean view but still great accommodations. It was quite hot while we were there and there was no AC in our unit but the place was very clean and close to everything.

Spent two nights here on our road trip of the Oregon coast, I had done a lot of research and we wanted an ocean view so I was prepared too spend a bit more than I would normally spend
Our room was large with a wonderful view, the kitchen facilities where ideal for our needs . There was also comfortable chairs , which we found very useful.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a sea view
