“Great in-town location!”

The waves was a great find for a good price. Room was clean and comfortable. The Waves staff were personable and kind. The room was quiet also at least our room was on the top floor. View was wonderful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the waves hotel where we were greeted by very friendly staff and a clean spacious room with a view of the ocean. It was quiet and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and a full size fridge (not the wimpy dorm room size). Being right in the heart of everything at Cannon Beach just added to the whole package. From check-in to check-out, it was a great experience.

I was in a unit (103) away from the beach, but no problem short walk to beach as well as shops.
Room renovated last year, very bright and modern decore. The upstairs room had a king and single bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value.

We have given this place a few tries. This year we got into a Flagship ocean front room. The view was very lovely. The room was a little worn in places but nice. We did have quick service for a shade that was not working. Last year we tried out the La Colina...top floor...a bit small for us. This year we spent our last night back in the La Colina and had a bigger room with a decent view. They only have queens in that building. Next year we are booked in the Southwind which has no view to speak of but kings size beds. I was torn over view verses price. The Southwind has been recently remodeled. So we will see. The grounds are well taken care off. There is a small hot tub that is not mentioned in the Flagship building. The big plus to me is the short walk to downtown Cannon Beach! You park your car at the hotel and everything else is in walking distance. All the lovely shops and restaurants, and of coarse the beach. There is a brand new coffe shop opened up across the street, which you will need for decent cell reception and wi-fi

Room Tip: If view is important go for the Flagship. If value is more important...choose another building.

We stayed in the La colina. We had a top room with a great view and a small deck. We arrived two hours early and our room was ready and they let us check in. We also had late check out. The room was fantastic. Stone fireplace and tall celings with skylights that opened. We opened one and could hear the ocean all night. It was great. The room had a small refer and micro and a small sink in the living area. Flat screen tv and a dvd player.I hope you are in good shape for the third floor... 40 steps up 40 steps down. That way you can eat more at the bakery around the corner!

Room Tip: Top floor to get a view in the LaColina

We stayed in unit 203, upstairs near the office. This section of the property has a garage below each room, which is interesting. Management uses these garages for storage. There is a set of stairs for each 2 units. This room has a king and a single bed, as we wanted separate beds. The single bed is in a bump-out alcove, with windows all around. Windows also line the wall at ceiling level to let in maximum light. We were 1/2 block from the beach, and steps from the pizza restaurant. The staff was friendly, and the room clean.

I would stay there again.

Most coffee shops in Cannon Beach don't open until 7:30 or 8:00. If you are an early riser, go to the Cannon Beach Bakery which opens @ 6:30.

To start, I find places to stay by Google earth. I found what I thought was a condo on the beach near downtown. It was not. What I did find was the main office. What I got was a condo 2 miles away on the other side of a busy road with a distant, partial view of the ocean. The condo was clean and spacious, however we like to cook in but it was poorly equipped for this (the details are supercilious). My wife thought it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of town and it was a short walk to the beach. I however, felt that I was miss led, possibly by my own misconception, as I made this reservation on-line. A phone call would have been advisable and I have now learned a valuable lesson (one that more seasoned travelers may already know).
