“Crowded, but still lots of room to walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

there were many many people on the beach, tents for events, kites, recumbent biking, all sorts of activities going on, but still was plenty of room to stroll, look for rocks and seashells. We even found a scattering of small jelly fish waiting for the tide to wash them back into the ocean.

“Excellent seacoast for the unusual formations. Nice to walk on.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

Cannon beach is a very fine place to visit. The views are spectacular, with many rock formations adjacent to the beach. There is a nice park (so many such nice parks along the coast of Oregon) and you can simply take the scenery from above the beach, or wander down and walk the beach. The scene changes with the tides and the weather so you can be pretty much assured of something interesting whenever you visit.

A multiple-day pass can be purchased that is valid for a number of days at any of the coast beaches. This is the way to go if you will be along the coast for several days. Just ask at the first entry at the first beach you visit.

“Soft sand”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

I am in the San Juan's so we have few sandy beaches. Cannon Beach is a wonder on the bare feet the sand is sooooo soft!

“Magnificent beach and cute town centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

This is a ‘bucket-list’ beach – one of the most beautiful on earth: soft white sand and the magnificent rock formations. It is a MUST DO for photographers – winters: storm photography, June – great light, August – fog. The town center is pretty, the exterior decorations are ‘old wood’ type and it does not feel like a business district. Go in September, better weather and cheaper lodgings.

“Best Oregon beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

What really surprised me wasn't just the beach, huge, with great views and the big rock between beach and sea, but the town as well. Of course you can't really swim in the ocean, is way too cold, and for an Italian like me this takes a lot away from a beach (that is why 4, and not 5 stars). But I found the town very charming, built all in style, very well kept and fully alive. I was there only for a day, and I'm planning to go back to spend at least a week end in this beautiful place.
