During our trip in Washington/Oregon and California, we chose to stay in Brookings for three nights. The coast north of Brookings is very beautiful and from Gold Beach north of Brookings (half an hours´drive) you can take a boat on the Chetco River. We ended up very much just to relax and the hotel was well situated for that, quiet and near the beach, which is not that long, but quite nice. The room was very nice with two confortable queens and quite spacious with a small balcony. Everything was clean and well kept. At the premises there is no restaurant for dining, but opposite to the site, just across the street, there is a nice restaurant, the Sebastians Seafood Grille, serving good fish(the chowder recommendable, nice salmon and halibut).
The room price included a continental breakfast, which was a dissapointment. The breakfast room is far too small, too many people in a small buffet area all trying to get something to eat from the buffet. Also, the items in the buffet were a bit scarse f.ex. there was only tinned fruit to take with your jougort. The service team had no change to clean tables fast enough.
The airconditioning was not on, but you could sleep with your balcony door open and bolt it from the inside, so that nobody could really come in. In these peaceful surroundings this was much better than having airconditioning on and we slept well in our confortalbe beds.
