“Saved Some Cash, Forgot about no Air Conditioning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Said no to a more expensive hotel in the area and settled for the Inn, forgetting that for that price we might not have air conditioning. We didn't. She was a hot one. Other than that, it was a quick one night stay so not too much damage done. Headed to Portland the next day, and caught up on our sleep there.
Came with breakfast at the restaurant next door, which was all good.

We were disappointed with our stay here. It was very stuffy and there was no air conditioning as per our booking info. Bed was less than comfortable. We would not stay here again or recommend it I'm sorry to say

The room smelt of pot so strongly, and there is no ventalation what so ever! No ac no fan nothing! The room was done in the late 80s and has jot been renevates since. The comforter when I pulled it back had brown stains and hair stuck to it. Bathtub as well had other people's hair in it and was just gross!

We had booked a 4 night stay an went to the store and grabbed snacks and some microwaveable dinners only to discover the rooms are "not wired to accommodate a microwave. It will catch the room on fire".

There is only and ocean view of you stand on a chair and squint!

The best western is where we ended up spending the rest of our nights! Clean beautiful and as ocean front as you get. The people who leave great reviews must be related to the owners. The bagger at the grocery store even told us to lock the car up and keep and eye on it. " they are always getting broke into."

My husband and I stayed a couple nights while visiting some friends that live there in Brookings. The hotel was attractively laid-out in a rambling fashion, with our room being a ways away from the check-in area. The hotel had clean and attractive exterior and parking areas for the price.

The room was plenty spacious, clean, and well-attired for the price. Our room had two comfortable queen-sized beds and was located on the first floor.

The complimentary, very large cinnamon roll for breakfast was surprisingly filling, but then again I don't have much appetite in the morning. The cafe was a charming example of how dining used to be on the coast and reminded me of when more establishments were more family owned and operated, and less corporate.

The only drawback to staying here is that the room was on the noisy side. I could definitely hear the traffic on the nearby Highway 101 in the room. The parking lot was right next to the front door of the room, which was handy for getting our luggage in and out of the car, but it was noisy with other people in adjoining rooms doing the same. Also, a maid vacuuming the carpet in the room above us woke both us up far earlier than we would have liked. I have to wonder if there is any sound deafening between the floors since I could distinctly hear every time the vacuum bogged down and such, loud and clear. I have average hearing, BTW. Next time, I will bring earplugs!

Room Tip: May want to ask for a room away from the highway.

My wife and I stayed at Brookings Inn on Wednesday night 6/20/12 during our week long road trip down the west coast on Hwy 101. Not having a room booked for that night yet we just started looking for rooms as we drove through Brookings. The outside appearance of the place made me want to check into it. It looked like it would be nice but not way too expensive. They had a vacancy and the price was lower than I even expected. They also had free Wi-Fi and free breakfast at their restaurant across the parking lot. We skipped on the breakfast simply because we wanted to get down the road and see some more sights. It looked really nice though. The lobby was really up to date and well decorated. The staff was very friendly and check in was fairly simple and quick as was check out. The room was nice and clean. We got a good night rest and continued on our road trip the next day. They had a really nice looking pool outside enclosed inside a glass house kind of like a green house but see through. We didn't get to try it as we arrived late and left early. We mainly just wanted a nice clean place to sleep and clean up and continue down the road. We got that but there was much more available than that if we had wanted it. We were well pleased with this hotel.

The value for price paid is excellent and we were there on a Friday following the Fourth of July. The room was large which gave us plenty of room to lay out our belongings. A refrigerator and microwave are in the room. Even though the property is located on Hwy 101, the rooms are quiet. One negative is the bed is pretty soft. One person moving shook the rest of the bed. If not for this my rating would have been higher.

Since we were pretty tired from a motorcycle trip down the coast, we decided to have dinner at the Sea Gull restaurant on the property. The food was quite good and very reasonable. This is also where the hot breakfast is served. There were of choice of breakfast entrees all hearty, served quickly and included coffee and juice. We would have liked to use the hot tub but were at the other end of the property so skipped it. We would definitely stay here again.
