“Good, but not worth a second visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We were hungry for some seafood and the town was celebrating Azaleas so the parking was impossible on the waterfront, We kept going until one spot opened at this little place. The wait staff was clearly flummoxed due to the heavy volume, but we were there at 2:30 after things slowed down. We ordered wine, but the gal forgot and when the meal arrived she remembered and brought it quickly. I ordered the squid and my wife had the chowder in a bread bowl. Both meals were good and hot. So, how do you decide if you want to come back if the food was OK? I guess it falls back on the service. A little flaky, but nice people. We'll give another place a chance before we would go back there...sorry.

“Good, but not the best anymore”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This used to be one of our favorite places for seafood in Brookings, but while it hasn't gotten worse, it's been eclipsed by a couple of restaurants with similar menus. It still excels, however, in breakfast items. This is an ordinary fish and chips, burgers and eggs and pancakes sort of place on the side of the highway. Nothing fancy but the service is usually friendly and good. They also have a gift shop in the restaurant with lots of local food products like jams and honey.

“Poor food; poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

When I saw the ballyhoo about this place having the best breakfast, I had to do a review. The food is somewhere between poor and average, and the service is poor. I tried breakfast once, and fish and chips once. There are much better places in Brookings for each of those meals. It has been at least 6 months since we have been here, because we don't go to this restaurant anymore.

“poor food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

It depends on who is cooking. If a man is cooking, the food is very good. If a woman is cooking, the food is very bad and usually cold. Rather go to DQ. At least it consistant.

“Best Breakfast in Brookings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

This is my favorite breakfast in Brookings. Service is friendly and the breakfast is great. Nothing fancy, just done right, and heartily.
