“Don't stop at Multnomah Falls!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

Multnomah Falls is beautiful, but it's only the beginning. Keep hiking past the falls to the top of Larch Mountain. It's better than the hike to the falls because it's no longer paved and it's not super steep switch-backs. It's about 6.5 miles to the top with a lot of variety in scenery. The view from the top is very rewarding! Definitely one of my favorites, if not my favorite Oregon hike.

“Bring good walking shoes, and a hat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

Beyond the fantastic view of the this waterfall are numerous trails and hikes at other least crowded falls along the way. Multnomah Falls is spectacular; but if you want to dive into nature without the crowds, check out http://www.columbiagorgewalks.com/; or pick up one of the numerous books outlining walks at Powells Bookstore.

“Stunning, simple natural beauty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2011

Took a detour from our outlined trip to fit in a peek at Multnomah Falls. Boy was it worth it. The falls themselves are spectacular even from the parking lot. There is a path that winds up to an overlook bridge. The path is a little steep and wet, but doesn't require any particular agility to navigate. The parking lot was crowded but civilized and the gift shop and restroom facilities were well maintained. I did not eat, but was told by a local that the Sunday brunch was worth every penny. We drove out here from Portland and it was a quick and beautiful drive. If you find yourself in the Portland area, Multnomah Falls is worth the trip.

What a great attraction. Easy to get to, stunning views just steps away from the parking lot. Highly recommended.

“Terrific drive,”

I loved that you can drive up to 70 MPH, and still enjoy the view. Spectacular views when not raining.
