An old school has been remodeled into a hotel with a unique, fun decor. Rooms have been furnished to look very rustic & woodsy-- nicely detailed with rustic furniture to match. The rooms are a little dark but very clean & comfortable. Bathrooms are wonderful-- a walk-in shower. So nice to stay in a hotel with character and a sense of fun-- not a bland, boring chain. Freshly roasted & ground coffee & the local paper delivered to your door every morning. The soaking pool is a hoot, with murals & a fountain in the middle; it's much more than a standard hot tub. Open to the sky-- try to go for a soak when it's snowing. They also show movies in the theater every night, and the pub is right there in the same complex. Staff was very pleasant & helpful. I was concerned about noise from the pub at night, but we didn't hear a thing. Breakfast and dinner at the pub were very good, and of course the beer, too. Nice to be able to walk to downtown, too. My only quibbles: in cold weather, the room temperature goes down quickly after turning off the heater, so a down comforter would be nice; and the bed was a little hard (but my husband thought it was fine). Our stay was so fun, I can't wait to check out their other hotels, too!
All rooms are on ground floor.
