“Good morning trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

The Lava Lands Visitor Center and the lava cone are interesting and an easy walk. Good activity for a morning or afternoon (weather permitting). Easy walk and very informative. Recommended.

“Up close view of volcanic activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Enjoyed our visit: (1) walked the Trail of the Molten Land which is behind the visitor center. Nice paved walking trail through the molten rock. Kind of fascinating if you like this kind of stuff. (2) drove up to Lava Butte which is a 'cinder cone.' You can walk around the cinder cone though it is steep in areas.

“Lava Lands National Monument”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

Parked at the Visitor Centre and drove up to the top of the Lava Butte. You can walk round the rim and see the interior of the cinder cone where the lava flowed from. Did a walk called 'The Trail of Molten Land' where you wander all over the lava flow from 7000 years ago. The landscape is quite astonishing and we had the place to ourselves. It's definitely also worth visiting the Big Obsidian Flow if you're in this area, another trail on lava flow.

“Beautiful and easy hike to falls! Watch out for bugs!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We hiked out to Benham Falls, and had a nice time. It is a short hike, very scenic, but there are a lot of bugs, so wear sunscreen!

“Amazing Service.... very nice staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

What an interesting place to visit and pleasant staff. One of the rangers took all the time in the world to explain everything to us and give us the right information to enjoy our stay the most. I do recommend for people to stop by and buy the three day permit ($15 dollars/car), so you can enjoy and visit as many of the park sites as you can. It is truly worth it.
