I hitch hiked into Bend from the Pacific Crest Trail on a cold rainy day with a friend. Carol took us very smelly and dirty hikers in, gave us a place to hang, wash and dry our wet and dirty gear, and gave us the virtual tour of the town with 100% fantastic recommendations. The included breakfast was amazing and more than enough even for a hungry thru-hiker. The rooms were spotless, same as the bathrooms and everywhere else in the Inn. I was afraid to touch anything. The Jacuzzi was the best one I used on the entire Pacific Crest Trail hike.
Location? We were on foot and could reach everything a thru-hiker might want or need including a $4 movie, a grocery store and a post office not to mention two gear outfitters.
We exchanged backpacking stories with Carol, the owner, and were very impressed with her stories of backpacking/traveling around the world.
We hiked on to Canada. After I finished I came back with a friend to stay another night. I will be staying there again this August as I am hiking the Pacific Crest Trail again.

We have never stayed in a B&B and we were very pleased. My husband, adult daughter and I were in for one night in Bend and found it on line. The location is great to walk to down town.
The house is fun, homey, eclectic and full of charm. We had room #7 with a bath. Comfortable, colorful and cozy. Our daughter had the adjoining room #5 and she was just as comfortable.
The hot tub was lovely and breakfast was great. The waffles were light and had a wonderful cinnamon flavor.
Thank you Carol for your hospitality and wonderful care. We especially enjoyed the freedom and flexiblity of the inn and our after breakfast visit with you.

Found the Mill House Inn on the internet and it did not disappoint us. Carol, the Inn Keeper/owner, was very gracious and friendly. Generously handed us helpful maps and travel brochures upon our check in. Downtown Bend is just a short walk, where one can find numerous restaurants and micro breweries.Breakfast was delicious- the whole grain waffles are house specialty. We were delighted to learn that the laundry room is free and even included soap- we had been on the road for 7 days. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Bend

The Mill Inn was great. The room was fair to good and had it's own bathroom. (Not all the rooms have them.) The old mill rooming house is very ecclectic. It's owner, Carol is originally from Brooklyn, NY and you can see her unique tastes throughout the B&B. We felt right at home here. Carol, the proprietor is a friendly and helpful host. She's a very interesting person if you take the time to get to know her. If you're a skiier, she's your gal. She even got us maps to help determine where we could go hiking. As we're traveling with our 23 month old daughter we needed laundry and she let us use the Inn's facilities. Breakfast was the real surprise. No fancy omelettes or gourmet plates, but damn that breakfast is good. Eggs (however you want them), fruit, thick bacon, sausage, pancakes, rocketfuel coffee, etc. Wicked good. For what we paid for this room, and all the great service The Mill Inn is an outstanding deal. It is however, ON the road, so if you're a light sleeper ask for the room on the parking lot side in the back. The location is perfect and just a few blocks from downtown. It's a block from a great coffee joint, hip shopping, etc. This is the only place to stay in Bend if you're not hung up on pillow mints and white lace. I can"t tell you how wonderful Carol was. Give her a hug for us when you see her.

We had the best time at this B&B: the location is very good, in the hip Old Mill district, and easy to access from the highway. Our king size bed was heavenly and the room and bathroom brand new and very nice. I was surprised to find a deluxe jacuzzi on the patio for the guests to use and free wireless access. For 100 bucks a night for 2 in the high season, this was a very good deal. Moreover, the place has a history and personality -- the shiny pots and pants outside and the replica of the Statue of Liberty in the front yard are rather funny. The owner, Carol, is a character and prepares a great breakfast (check out the waffles.) Stronger coffee would make it ideal, but there's an organic coffee house just one block away with the best hazelnut-chocolate cookies.
